3 P's: Pure, precise, predictable

So when amendment 2 passes in Florida next week, the mantra by doctors, lawyers has been that what is needed is "pure, precise, and predictable" as all meds should be. So we have seen many beautiful grow-ops, gotten glimpses of industrial grow-ops but we don't really see how we can measure for those 3 "Ps".

Couple questions

1) How do we measure the potency of cannabis consistently?
2) How do growers produce predictable results from harvest to harvest within the same strain?

1)here in cali we send it off to SC labs to be tested, its that simple/
2) You can produce predictable results harvest to harvest, by treating it like a science experiment.
Repeat the same actions, in the same area, with the same conditions, and mediums.

basically, if you're growing all your crops from a mother plant/clone using the same nutrients, lights, and care, you can pretty much count on getting the same yield or better each cycle.
Barring pests and error ofcourse.

thank you jinn. That helps allot. I read that a mother plant is good for about a year? What is your process for getting another mother plant of the same strain that is equally as good once the first mother has run its course?

It's dependent on the strain, some can last a year without turning, some can last longer/shorter.
But it is super simple to get another Mother plant; just clone your mom!

Breeders\professional growers have gone out to 20 clones without loss of integrity or effects. (meaning they cloned the mom, then cloned the clone, and cloned that cloned clone, etc...

another way to have consistant plants is by breeding for them. they have been doing this to animals( dogs/cats/horses) and flowers like roses tulips for eons. you take 2 plants (each with a different trait you want) allow them to breed and grow the seed. when mature and only allow the ones with both traits you want to breed with each other. do that over and over a few times you will end up plants all being the same.

This is something I feel all growers should do atleast once or twice. For the experience, for the more or less free seeds, to cure boredom, and most importantly TO PRESERVE your favorite strain, or hybrid of your favorites. Because you never know when a strain might just disappear.

The breeding option also gives you hybrid vigor! So your crop will grow larger, faster. Cloning from a mother plant provides guaranteed uniformity (genetically)
