I worked out your space as 6.76 square foot (providing your measurements are in MM)
With a 300W mars which pulls roughly 135 actual wattage this would give you 20 Watts per square foot. This would be ok for veg but ideally for flower you'd want double that.
I'm currently using a 600W VIPARSPECTRA (actual wattage around 276W) and a Mars 300W (actual about 135W)
Always look at the actual wattage aswell as manufacture stated wattage.
You want to aim for atleast 35 actual wattage per square foot for flower. Obviously the more the better.
So far my lights are doing a brill job in my 8 square foot space. And if I had more money I'd love to give the mars reflector series a try as they do look great or there new COB lights.
My girls are currently week 6 of flower.
How long you have used Mars300 ?
Mars300 W with low draw power, marsII series and proII are more powerful.
mars 300 you need to be within 8 inches to get really good development. at 18 inches, it has 315 PAR, for really well flower development, you need to be closer, 8-10 inches. BUT, if you have your VPD in order, its possible to get really good fruit at 14 or so inches, but you lose footprint. at around 400 par, and proper humidity/temp ratio, AND the proper spectrum, ( 400-440/660-730 nm, ( need both ranges ) emerson effect for max photosynthesis.
315 par is OK for Veg, but likeyou said, flower isnt to good at 315par.
just some info
I appreciate it. I've always been too paranoid to move the light that close as my wife's uncle has experienced bud bleaching with LEDs. In hindsight he is also running platinum 650's or something.
I moved the light to about 5" of my plant tops. They are in little hempys, and the foot print covers just two plants. At the moment they seem to be very happy and that makes me happy.
Absolutely. Buds directly under it, less than 6" away, are much more dense than those further than 6" away. If I had 3 more of these 300's and used proper training techniques, I believe that I could have a better yield than with my current setup. I would draw about 50 less watts total, not sure if I would gain any heat advantage though.Did mars 300 help your palnts grow better when you keep it closer to your girls?

A grower on here recommended to me that 8 inches will be about maximum distance during flower. Be sure to keep an eye out for bleaching, it probably won't happen, just my disclaimer,..Thanks for the report. I'm definitely going to set my Mars 300W much lower.
