300W LED, 200W CFLs, Emerald Harvest: Grow Journal

Hello everyone, I'm JDmaster420 and this grow I'm going to be using 2x 300w galaxyhydro LEDs in bud stage and 200w of CFL lights for veg. I'm also going to be using the Emerald Harvest 3 part nutrients series. My medium for this grow is just normal sunshine#4 mix soil. This is my 4th grow but my first ever online journal and the first time I've ever used LED lights or this Emerald Harvest nutrients series. The plants I'm growing have been started from seed and are about 4 weeks old from germination. I also have a second set of seedlings that were germinated 2 weeks ago and are coming along nice right behind the first group of seedlings. Most of the first group of seedlings have been topped and are developing their new main tops. The strains I'm growing are AK hashplant(bag seeds), Saddam and, bomb berry which were both bred by a friend of mine. I might have a little bit of nitrogen deficiencys in a few of the older seedlings but I'm working to correct that

sounds like a cool set up. Never heard of emerald nutes, look forward to seeing how that works for you. Is that bomb berry or berry bomb? I got a berry bomb going right now.

Happy New Years everyone, Yeah it's a bomb berry, it's a local bred strain( ak47xblackberry) and as for the Emerald Harvest my friend at the grow shop said it was a pretty new nutrients series and that he'd give me the box if I reported back to him how well it works, so I'm pretty happy about that. Here's a little update on the grow, oh I'm also using organic molasses for my cal, mag part of the series because the sturdy stalk and cal mag don't come with the starter pack of nutrients I got. Some of the seedlings have been transplanted into 1 gal pots and I'm waiting on a few others to dry out a bit more before I transplant them. I'll probably be switching the plants into bud by the end of the month depending on growth. I did over water one of my Akhashplants and she's just looking awful,(I'm sure she'll bounce back though) but other than that all other plants are doing great. I also think I might have found a male out of the 4 Akhashplant, either a male or a crazy fat, fast growing pheno. Here's some pics

Alright everyone im back, it's been a while. I've been working on the garden but I'm now using both of the 300w galaxyhydro leds, along with a few cfls on the sides. I'm going to be throwing the ladies into bud stage tomorrow. I do have a few runt plants that are growing slow and small but I'm gonna keep them all because I'm not sure how many males and females I have out of this batch of plants. The lights and the Emerald Harvest nutrients series are doing great with the plants for veg so far I'm not seeing any deficiencies or anything like that, but I'm not sure if I trust the 2x galaxyhydros to give me the full yield I'm going to want from these plants so I'm probably going to add a few cfls along the sides during bud to increase the weight. I'm hoping to harvest a half pound off around 5-6 plants. Heres a few shots of the ladies

alright today is day 5 of bud, I was able to determine the sex of all the plants by today, so I cut down all the males. I ended up with 5 females & 4 male plants. Everything is looking really good little white hairs are starting to spur out of each set of nodes on the plants. But I've be wondering about lollipoping there's not any simply explained tutorials on the subject I just wanna know when to start, I was planning on just doing a strong lollipop around the 3rd week of bud where I would just cut off all the branches and bottom bud below the top 4 or 5 nodes but idk if that's going to be to much stress to early in bud. I don't want to stunt the growth rate or anything. So any advice would be appreciated.heres some pics of the ladies

Alright today is week4 of bud for the ladies, I ended up having a hermaphroditied plant out of the 2 bomb berrys so he/she got cut down. This means I'm down to 3 AK hashplants and 1 bomb berry. Here's some pics of day 28 in bud. This first set of pics are the Aks

I noticed there was a bomb berry that didn't switch over from veg to bud to well, so the buds seem to be smaller yet also seem to be maturing faster compared to the AKs( all the hairs are starting to turn orange ) . This is that weird fast maturing bomb berry

I was able to get a few successful clones off of the AKs and the bomb berry that's not herrmied out. I'll also be getting a few new strains to be working with along with the aks and I'll do one more run of bomb berry to see its full potential but if I'm still not impressed the strain will probably get tossed from my garden. One of the new strain has already been started with the clones, but will not be revealed till my next journal. So I'll probably post a link to that new grow at the end of this grow. I will be using different lights probably along with these 2 I have and a different nutrient series. The Emerald Harvest wasn't super complicated to work with but it has some ph drift issues and I felt like it wasn't giving my plants all the nutrients needed in veg or bud. I was having problems with nitrogen deficiencies through out veg and a few problems with plants not wanting to flower normally. Mostly the bomberry.

Hey man, sorry about that. I believe I ended up with 4 dry ounces of bud from 2 300w leds that were only pulling around 115 real watts from the wall and a few Cfls sprinkle in.
