36x1 gallon pots or 12x5 gallon pots?

Im a newbie currently in my first grow with 12 huge plants in a 6'x6' tent with 1000w cool tube. Now on week 5 of flower, the plants are getting huge and almost unmanageable but I dont mind if they produce a nice amount of bud.

I am currently building a room for my next grow this time 4'x8' with 2 1000w lights and I am wondering if it would yield more if I put only 12 plants nicely spaced apart in 5 gallon pots or if I cram 36-48 smaller plants in 1 gallon pots.

Has anyone tried both??? What were your results??? Thanks...

I personally always like the fewer, but bigger plants. I'd go with 12 5 gallons, they'll be easier to maintain as well. Go with the 5 gal. Allow for more root growth as well.

Thanks for your input. I'll be going with the 12 to make my life easier. I dont even want to imagine having to water and look after 36 or 48 plants.

If I had a 4x8 space I'd go with one 4x8 bed about 20" deep and plant 8 plants.
Living Organic Soil no-till.
Should probably average 9 to 12 oz per plant, 4+ pounds every 5 months.

That might be the way to go for production.
