hi

i have attached pics of my mothers, clone dome and transplanted plants in main veg room, i recently transplanted out of the dome into decent size pots and into our main grow room where we are running 18/6 on 1 x 400w mh at the moment.
There are 3 sets of clones in here, the biggest obviously was transplanted first (10/08/2020).
The second set with slight light green put in 15/08/2020
the 3rd set and smallest were put in 17/08/2020
i have them going in super hemp soil.
my question is, is the new light green growth seen normal?
from what ive learnt and read on this AMAZING site is that its either a N def, Sulfur def or a ph issue
any help would be great.
thank you

I'm just passing through on the way to unconsciousness, but wanted to mention that I haven't used any kind of "clone dome" for 15 or 20 years. Serves a purpose if you live in a literal desert, I suppose (but even then the thing shouldn't be sealed and the humidity level shouldn't be so high that you're seeing condensation on the inner surfaces at normal grow room temperatures). Otherwise, it probably ends up being a negative.

You can take a cutting, wrap it lightly in a dampened paper towel, and chuck it into your refrigerator for a couple of hours, even overnight. When you pull it out, it'll be doing an imitation of a wet noodle. Cut a fresh end (at an angle works best for me), stick it in a glass of water or something and, within an hour, it'll more than likely be standing at attention, lol. That tells me that, under anything approaching normal conditions, a cutting is going to have the ability to take up enough moisture. And, in having access to enough, it'll be able to create a root system. When attempting to root cuttings, my goal is to keep them alive but give them reason to seek water (by growing roots), as opposed to trying to make that process unnecessary.

But that's just me. As in all things in life, "YMMV" applies. . . .

Hi Tourtured
sorry the dome was just as i do the cuttings, i spray the inside of the dome once only and i do have breathing holes that i open periodically to harden them in. the process actually worked out great, outta the 14 plants i had in there 13 had roots.
the transplanted ones in the room all had nice roots when i transplanted them into the bigger pots but my question now is : is the light green new growth u see on them normal or is it a def?

Don’t worry about the pale green at the tops, that is new growth which is generally paler than mature growth :)

Here is an example of a young Blue Dream plant about 7 weeks ago

Here is the same plant last week

It’s the plant to the far right

Hey Celt
See now the edges of the leaves looking unhappy, thinking either overwatering or a sulfur/Nitrogen def? What do u think?

I would say that you are on the verge of over watering. Cannabis grows wild in some pretty arid climates and we all tend to give them more water than they need. Thankfully they are a tough and resilient plant (there is a reason we refer to it as weed) .

Aside from the obvious, too much water messes with the plants ability to regulate the pH in the root zone and causes other issues such as lockout and nute burn, even in LOS grows.

Leave them dry for a few days, let the pots get “light” feeling when you lift them. If you are unsure, but the leaves aren’t drooping, leave it go another day.

It is much easier to over water than it is to under water.

hey Celt
i let them dry out and have given them one feeding since but the edges of the leaves still seem to be getting worse
gave them a half dose of biobizz - grow

I am no expert on feeding plants with nutes, this year is the first I tried anything other than organic soil.

What I see in the pictures doesn’t strike me as a deficiency in the way the damage is presenting. Were those damaged leaves on the clones when you had over watering issues a few weeks ago, they still strike me as leaves damaged due to too much water rather than a deficiency.

Can you take pictures looking down on top of them?

what are you feeding ? what is super hemp soil ? is it a nuted soil ? organic ? promix clone ?

Hey @The Celt.
The two marked with the red were drooping and just fed.
The bucket is air injection experiment.
