400 watt to a 1000?

I've been growin for a few years on the same 400 w mh/hps setup but I'm movin so I'm upgrading to a 1000 I was just wondering do yall think thats gonna be enuff othe elec bill to have problems?? Still prolly gonna use 400 fa veg then flip the big fa flowering.. How much most of u 1000 w users pay monthly?

Bring up your grow and start shutting everything off.

they won't be able to tell, Trust Me.

Use the seasonal spikes to hide any changes after that

Be aware of the heat increases with the 1000w. It gets quite warm.

Take a look at your elec bill to figure out how much you pay per Kw. Total$ divided by TotalKw used per month = $ per Kw. More like cents per Kw. eg: 1Kw bulb x 12Hrs per day = 12Kw/day x 30days = 360Kw/mth x cents per Kw = $ per month to run that bulb. Use 0.4Kw for the 400W bulb.

I'm paying about $0.12/Kw so 360Kwhr/mth x $0.12/Kwh = $43.20/mth for 1000w bulb, $17.28 for a 400w light. Both at 12 hrs/day tho $26/mth for the 400w @ 18hrs/day.

One 1000w bulb won't raise any eye brows at all and your plants will reward you. :0)

thanks i am definatly gonna get a 1000 watt but im really up in the air as far as best ballace and everythin. i also want to get a 4x4 sun scorcher reflector any input would be awsome

it might be better to just get another w400 for w800 total and swap bulbs . you could spread the lighting out over more plants that way.

true but with a 1000 watts he is getting 3 400 watt lights??

That was my thinking, so I stepped up to a 1000 watts too
