420 Magazine’s Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By Cr8grow

They are some pretty plants! Crossing my fingers for no transplant shock and they don't skip a beat. As soon as they get used to that 5 gallon space, they are going to explode!
Added a couple handfuls of Mosquito Bits to each pot before watering to knock down FGnats.
I was reading their package and it mentions putting the bits in the soil. Yet, many prefer to soak them and water it in. I've been doing the latter the past couple waterings but still getting pressure from the gnats. I hate those damn things! Lol

BakedArea, the M Bits work for me top dressed right up front. Two small handfuls gloved sprinkled around and done. First watering starts the elimination. I’m pretty excited about this GSC sponsored grow. Looking forward to applying my grow experience so far to my best grow with my favorite strain and learning from all the other growers for any other improvements.

Interesting. For some reason I thought they needed to be soaked. Speaking of bits...I need to order some more.

Have you ever tried the other powdered liquid type that is supposed to be a more concentrated? I don't remember the brand honestly but it was on Amazon. I'm half tempted to send them a message and ask them to think about becoming a sponsor here. If it is good stuff, they would kill it in this community!

If I find it, I'll send you a screenshot. Supposed to be good.

Went and did a quick search. This stuff...have you ever tried it? I'm tempted to give it a shot.

BakedARea, I haven’t tried the oroduct you shared. I use the Mosquito Bits in my birdbath, so using the same product for my grow. Watering through the top dressed Bits works for me...no F Gnats arter a few waterings. Cheers

Day 21, end of week 3 from sprout. Finally transplanted yesterday the seedlings with nice root development into their final 5 gallon pots. No issues apparent late today. Actually see some growth overnight. One topping and LST should start next week if I can get some stretch between the nodes. Plants looking about right, just a bit late on the up-pot...they will catch up. Pics from this morning.

I may just have to give that a try too then. Thanks for the tips! Blessings!

Day 23, two days into Week 4. No transplant or other issues at this point. Plants have grown about 1/2”, but node spacing remains tight given light intensity 24” above the tallest. Topping may still happen this week as those roots travel down towards the bottom of the 5 gallon pots and outward. Pot weight is heavy, I usually water/feed about every 6 days at this point; 2 gallons total across all 4 plants. Pics from today.

Seeing those playing cards attached to the side of the pots reminds me of a favorite song I like to sing to myself all the time while working in the gardens.

Looser by Gerry Garcia .. one of my favorite versions is played by the Traveling McCourys.

If I had a dollar for every ace I've drawn
I could own a town the size of Abilene ....

GL with your young ladies. Weed off and growin.

They are looking great! I'm right behind you on a couple of mine. Squatty girls! Loving the internode spacing.
BakedARea...thanks, I didn’t notice how sturdy my main stalks are until looking back at my pics from yesterday...better get going on LST. I do believe the silica makes my plants too sturdy...never have needed a stake despite bountiful buds. Topping a bit past due.

Bobrown14, Thanks for checking in. I visited your comparative grow...looking good. Is that a Dead song, Jerry solo, or another group? Cheers

Day 28 from sprouts, end of Week 4. I’m raising the light daily now. Full water and organic nutes feed today, 6.3 PH. Last water/feed was 8 days ago; possibly could have gone one more day. I will definitely top all above 5th node and start LST this weekend. No apparent issues and happy to report zero f-gnats thus far. The weekend is supposed to be great here on the 3rd coast, hope you enjoy yours. Pics after watering this afternoon.

Work intruding on my life...way behind on proper attention to these WSE GSC vigorous seedlings. Finally mixed soil and filled four 5 gallon pots yesterday. Roots well developed and easy to see with the clear cup inside the solo cup. Today transplanted 4 of 5 seedlings into 5 gallon pots. First full deep watering including veg nutes, cal mag and Superthrive. Humidity will increase in the cabinet by tomorrow. Stats earlier today 82F (64 to 82) RH 30% (27-47). Added a couple handfuls of Mosquito Bits to each pot before watering to knock down FGnats. The odd plant out showed early deficiencies and was down selected. I will keep for a few days as back up in case I have any transplant shock. I expect serious changes here in the next veg week including some topping and LST. Light set at 24”...may need to raise a bit to force some early stretch. Pics from tonight, Day 20.
