Welcome to 420 Magazine's Grow Journal of the Month Contest!

This contest celebrates the very best grow journals on 420 Magazine as nominated and judged by the 420 Magazine member community.

All members are welcome to nominate other members' journals and vote on a winner each month. We ask that everyone please consider the following factors when suggesting nominees and voting on this contest:

• Frequent Activity & Updates - Journals should be regularly maintained and updated
• Attention To Detail - Journals should discuss growing methods and techniques in detail
• Quality Photography - Pictures should be clear and of good quality
• Proper Grammar & Structure - Journals should be well-written and easy to understand
• General Forum Conduct - Journal and author should adhere to published forum guidelines
• Stays On Topic - Journals should be focused on Cannabis cultivation
• Responds To Questions - Members posting questions receive clear and thoughtful responses
• Explains Well & Offers Advice - Journal is a good environment for new growers to learn
• Promotes our Sponsors - Journals should feature or recommend our Sponsors' products whenever possible

Members may only win this title once per year.

This contest is open to single grow Journals in Progress only, that have been updated by the original poster within the last 30 days.

As of Jan 1, 2022, perpetual journals are no longer permitted to be nominated in our contests. We realized that this contest was not fair to those who have created single grow journals to highlight methods, sponsors and genetics, as most perpetual journals are half filled with off topic conversations. Single journals simply cannot compete with perpetual journals that have multiple grows, many pages and years of gathered followers. This is the kind of loophole that creates the "popularity contest" mindset, so we opted to remove it to minimize drama and keep things fair. While we truly appreciate the teaching, content and comradeship that a perpetual journal provides, we cannot allow them to be a part of this contest any longer, nor do we have the time, energy and resources to add another contest.

Please send your nominations to 420 Support (@Renee Roberts @Paul Squiggle or @Teddy Edwards) via private message, including detailed reasoning for your nomination. 420 Staff will assess and approve the community nominations, then members determine the winner by poll.

Nominations are accepted from the 1st until the 14th at midnight PST every month. Approved nominations will be posted shortly after midnight PST and, at that time, the polls will open through midnight PST on the last day of the month to vote for a winner.

Please follow the above guidelines to propose a nomination and do not post or discuss nominations in the contest thread. Nominations and/or suggestions of nominations in the contest thread will be deleted without notice.

I'd like to nominate gwhunran and his journal Headroom Incident By Gwhunran 2022 for Grow Journal of the Month. Gwhunran has a fantastic SCROG growing style that he has perfected over time in his DWC system. This grow he's overcome early root issues and grown some big tall beauties. Frequent updates, lots of information and fantastic photos make this journal a fun one to follow. He even goes into natural CO2 supplementation. Do yourself a favor and check out gwhunran's Headroom Incidents before they take over his grow area ​

@Regrowth - Getting Freaky With Mars Hydro And The FC3000

I would like to nominate: Getting Freaky With Mars Hydro And The FC3000 for Journal of the Month.

Regrowth has an interesting journal, which is updated regularly and his photography is on fleek.

Regrowth showcases the Mars Hydro light with amazing results. I find his grows informative and fun. Regrowth has a real passion for growing and this is demonstrated in his journals.

He is just an all round nice girl guy and I’m hoping September will be his month to shine.

@Melville Hobbes - Space Grow 2022: Skywalker OG, Romulan, Jack The Ripper & DV

I'd like to nominate Melville's Space Grow for GJOTM September.

He has been super close a couple of months now with this journal and it is not surprising why it has been nominated multiple times.

The grow is superb-outdoors which always adds some more flair and it is extremely well documented to boot.

Photography is on point and the care and attention show to the plants through their development is apparent to all of his followers.

He is engaging and pleasant with his commentary and overall, it is just a really fun yet informative, journal to watch.

@Danishoes21 - Vancouver Island 2022 Organic Grow

I want to nominate Vancouver Island 2022 Organic Grow by @danishoes21 for grow journal of the month. He went from having a safe spot to grow then having to move his plants. Among that dani also provides recourses on the compost he makes as well as tutorials all live the XENOMORPH.

Thank you. I am humbled. I am retired now and growing cannabis is a wonderful hobby for me. I don't get as deep in the weeds with details as many growers. I did on my first grow and found it took some of the enjoyment away. From then on, I tried to keep things simple. I pretty much just follow mfg. suggestions and fight my pre-disposition to "do something." I don't think I've gotten much better through effort but advancing years have given me a little more patience. I think in general our favorite plant wants to grow and we just have to give it the best environment we can, and for the most part, get out of their way.
I was and am still recovering from some pretty scary health issues when I first started posting on our site, and the members here are the best. I haven't witnessed any lack of respect, from any member, a first for me, on a forum. I would give special shout outs to many of you, but I'm afraid my old brain would leave someone out, and for me that would not do. Thanks guys

It’s always a honor to be nominated, it gives validation from the community that things are being done properly. The community has some outstanding growers and marvellous sponsors, since my debut in 2013 I have learned so much and that’s the reason why when I have a journal going I want to put out so much key information I find important and useful. Everyone has a method and it works, so it’s nice to have choices when growing our favorite plant.
I wanted to share my training techniques this time around and also the natural fertilizers, but I had a major issue with the place my plants where growing so I had to move everything and adjust, after the plants had such a stress they still kept on going, even I still can’t believe it.

Anyway the whole story is there, thanks again for the nomination.
