420 Magazine's Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By BooWho2

:ciao: Hi all! Welcome to my new grow! I am fortunate to have been offerred a Mars Hydro SP 3000 to try out in my 2x4 tent - and then Weed Seeds Express generously offered to sponsor numerous members here so I jumped on the bandwagon! This is going to be a little new for me since I’ve only grown photoperiod plants once in my one year of experience....and it was a crazy ride! Hopefully it won’t be so crazy this time.
My seeds were shipped on 31 March and arrived on 12 April, which in my neck of the woods is quick! :high-five: I’m not gonna show a pic of the packaging and seeds since I made a total mess of it when opening up. Two seeds were dropped the evening of the 12th and potted the evening of the 13th. I had babies on the 16th:

Now, let’s talk about the light! This light is unlike anything I’ve used before. It has 960 Samsung LM301B and Osram 660nm led chips and fits my 2x4 perfectly!

The control box has a dimmer with the capability to daisy chain up to 15 lights.

Mars Hydro has also included a 6 foot extension cable to allow for the removal/relocation of the Meanwell Driver if you need extra headroom or you have temperature issues in your tent/room.

The SP 3000 uses 300 watts to bring the sun to my tent and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned about temperatures. I think the heatsink they’ve created around it is pretty interesting and blowing a fan across the top of it may cool it pretty well. We shall see! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I’m looking forward to having a biggie Weed Seeds Express Girl Scout Cookie in my tent! :high-five: Stay safe out there!:peace:

I’m also running the SP3000 in a 2x4 and it is indeed a perfect fit. I run a 9” fan on the light and 6” on the plants. As the temperature has amped up here I now run the carbon filter exhaust almost full time and keep the door opened up partially as the temperature is hitting in low 80’s inside If I don’t. As much as I hate to tear into the tent now I’m thinking I need to move the light and driver to the out side. I wish now I had done this at the beginning.
I’m excited to watch your grow.

Hi Nev and :welcome:! I'm excited for the grow too so thank you. I'm hoping the SP 3000 won't get too got, but we shall see.... Thank you for watching!

Morning all! :ciao: The Weedseedsexpress babies are plugging along. They are 10 days old now. Babies take so much time to get big....:nomo:.

They both have a good set of roots forming.

They are in the tent now under the @Mars Hydro SP 3000 - THANK YOU again for the opportunity! The light is at 75% and about 40 inches away in order to put them at 18k Lux. That is higher than the RQS recommendation for seedlings, but I am running at around 17k Lux in my cabinet and all of my seeds have been started light that so....I'm guessing I'm okay. I've not grown photos since last year (and I knew nothing about growing them) so I'm kind of tip toeing through this first phase. Thoughts are welcome!

Have a great day! :peace:
