A or B? Please vote

[Jackalope]

I would like everyone's input on these photo's. I am working on getting pictures perfect. I have 2 different pictures of the same buds. I can't decide which one is better. Other peoples input would be helpful.

I think with both your focus is directed at the center of the bud, so top is blurry

Widen the field of view so more is in focus

I like the brightness of the 1st pic

I like “ A”, as well. The lighting makes it more inviting

I agree with Chris. I think people will focus more on the bud area so that should be sharper.

I vote A! Eventhough B looks like a more natural light setting, A's colors are popping making everything more vibrant, from her hairs at the top of the buds to the more darker colors between the leaves.

I should have mentioned I was not altering any photo's. The only difference is in lighting. Last year I thought more light was the key A. This year I am liking the natural light pictures more B.

I need to learn how to aim the focus on this camera. It is only a Minolta digital with Auto focus. I kind of want to buy a SLR camera but find it hard to justify it. I only take pictures of plants, that very few people get to look at.

Thanks Chris I will check and see if my camera will do that. Or better yet if it does can I figure it out lol.

Aperture settings. Usually has an "F" in front of it, f2.8 etc. May have to look in the menu, sometimes there's a dial or ring that turns.

I can find aperture reading on the screen. It will let me change between 2 preset settings. I can jump from 3.2 to 8.0 just those 2. Like you mentioned maybe it is time to break out the book and read directions lol.

i guess it all really ends up with what is being photographed. I take lots of pictures to go through. In the next 2 pictures I really like the low light one better. One is regular light the other is reflected light.
