About auto flowering light

Here's a trick I loved these two pieces turn an extension cord into multiple lights that can be dropped wherever they need to be. This coupled with a make shift reflector can be great.

I haven't ever removed the plastic lenses on one of these but I know a lot of people on here do with documented improvement. I used these more when CFLs were the latest and greatest.

One of these light bulbs is 8.5 watts and 840 lumens. The spectrum is 5000k and I was using these to save electricity while starting auto seeds. The angle of this works better with CFL I think but it worked.

I got really stoned before reading the last few posts but you guys are next level! Very exciting. I obviously have a lot I can learn in the lighting category and I appreciate the insight!

Here's my last make shift LED or DIY (although I only removed the outer lense or cover). I have this in my veg tent.
Awesome MD. I really appreciate DIY lights. Here is a set up I made for @FelipeBlu for his setup last year.
View media item 1683154View media item 1683153View media item 1683152We used four of the HLG Quantum Boards that are rated at 100watts for a 2x2.5 tent. The results were pretty good. Perhaps not quite as high as originally desired.

I have a 4000k 65W quantum board that's worked a treat for autoflowers and photoperiods. I have a small grow space though. The area of your grow space needs to be taken into account.
65w boards...which ones are they i use a sf 1000 in a 50x50x100

Here are both mine a 150watt 3500k with far red and a 250watt 3000k with IR and UV the plants love them both shout out to @Budget LED for the amazing flower light it’s their 250 sq series 3 with red spec with the driver removed and located outside the tent

Thanks for the compliment on the plant. It was a great and easy Auto grow and smokes awesome also.

I would say if you can't get a Quantum PAR Meter with Micromol Sensor for about $150 there is an alternative. Buy a light from a reputable source that provides PPFD measurement charts for different distances and use the numbers they provide. Hopefully they are correct.

We need to push manufactures and distributors of LED and other types of lights to give us some way to compare Apples to Apples with regards to AC Wattage from the wall and also PPFD measurements that can be validated at different distances as well as coverage areas. Additionally we need accurate spectrum charts showing wavelengths in the range of 400–700 nanometers (nm). These three things are very specific to the successful growing of plants and some companies aren't doing the job.

I use the PPFD and DLI numbers in my grow journals I keep. I sometimes mention those numbers in my online journals here. I personally feel the need for the meter because I use multiple lights in my indoor tents. I actually use two Mini's in my 2'x2.5'x5'7" Tent. Side by side I get awesome coverage for the entire plant/s. The only way I know is to measure the light accurately.
I completely agree I use quantum sensors in my grow as well as measuring my DLI if you want to push a plant to its best potential and yes spectrum is equally important the wider and more tuned in your spectrum can be the more naturally the plant can grow using all different types of chlorophyll this is basic plant biology and the perfect sun minis are gret little lights for sure I’m currently using the Budget LED series 3 250watt red spec On their Sq+ heat synk for flower it uses Samsung LM301H (3000k) Osram Far reds (660nm) And infrared (730nm)and a few LG UVA diodes It’s a beast for the 3x3 flower and for veg I use a viparspectra Pro series p1500 (150watt) it’s pretty basic 4000/3000k mix I’m pretty sure they are using epistar diodes with 660nm tossed in I’m not sure what brand the far reds are that one is now used for the 2x3 veg

Excellent @Canadianclstgrower It nice to see someone else working the same basic ideas with light as myself. I look at big pro grows and their multiples and spacing of light and just down size the idea instead of concentrating a single light and try and cover.

Great looking girls you have there. Good training.

Thank you man they are very happy and healthy they just got a nice compost tea yesterday I have studied biology some chemistry and botany I try to think of the best microclimate I can create to enforce and express the most ideal situation for a short day plant like cannabis consistency is key

Every detail is important from your light and environment to your medium and upkeep weather it be organic synthetic hydro or soil they all have their advantage and drawbacks what’s key is to find the system that works best for you that can be consistently replicated and I can not express the importance of learning about the rhyzosohere or soil food web being an organic practice it can be some work but can benefit any system if used properly , hard to do with hydro but any kind of soil or soilless system should strive for a healthy dynamic environment in the soil as well as this can help to protect buffer and even regulate your girls and keep them happy
