Active or Passive air intake

I want to install inline fans for my closet grow that is 2'wx4'wx8'h. I purchased 2 - 6in. inline fans but I've been reading that the air intake can just be a hole twice the size of the exhaust fan. Is this a good Idea? Because I was going to use one for intake and the other for exhaust.
