Okay anyone reading please help.
The bug I saw in my soil on my previous grow is magically in the Fox Farms Ocean Forest. This is 3rd bag.
Started a brand new grow, months of down time, started from seed placed in fox farms found the mites again. I don't think it's where it's coming from I KNOW it. I'm thinking others just aren't seeing these mites but they are there. I know I'm now some mystical exception. See my other journal for pics and info. Baby plants not even to second node these mites are soil mites. I've done nothing but add water out of bag last night, today I can see them all over soil. I'm certain they are a beneficial mite and are like immune to everything. Might have to live with them or throw all the fox farms out and start over with a new soil line. I'm pissy.

Okay. Experiment 1 UV Lighting and pest control.

Well if a few minutes of exposure to uvb lights I scorched my eyes. The fox farms ocean forest soil I've bought on separate occasions are responsible for a microscopic white little soil mite. I think it to be a predatory mite with several immunities. UVC lighting has known germicidal properties and no use in growing plants. Other UV wavelength UVA and UVB less information is available.

The experiment. To kill possible beneficial mites

Pot 1 Dutch Delight seedling, 1 hour exposure to UVB /UVA lighting.

Questions: Any decrease or absence of soil mite life...
Did it kill the plant....

So I opened a sealed bag of fox farms ocean forest I had bought and the mites are in huge numbers all through the bagged soil. I'm so foolish for blindly trusting a reputation and blindly transplanting into it.
So I have decided 3rd time is a charm. I will alter this journals name to reflect another new grow.
I will take my pick of the extra seeds I ordered and start from scratch again.
Since my sprouts soil is full of likely beneficial mites and show no sign of illness or injury I'm going to quaruntee them to a closet, shut them in with a T5 and in a few weeks I will put them outdoors where bugs belong. Meanwhile I will empty my veg tent. Disinfect. And germinate it up.
Good times.

Congrats on the new hobby. I've done one harvest in my whole life. It's all new to me. I'll get it right tho and it will be awesome ! Thank you for your time

Okay so I'm officially never letting fox farms anything anywhere near my grows. The mites that came compliments seem to resist everything. I've tried pure UV lighting, full strength 3% peroxide, full strength 91% rubbing alcohol, mixed the alcohol and peroxide, high concentration neem oil, azimax, the things are loving it. I decided not to kill them this time. They are going outdoors where bugs belong. Trying Coast of Maine bar harbor blend now. Just planted 3 new seeds for my indoor grow, they are locked in a closet till the others go outside. The new strains are Dream Machine, Sweet Tooth and gorilla glue AUTO. They will go into the Coast of Maine soil once rooted. I'll post some pictures tonight.

Last harvest did okay. Budded sweet tooth and ultimate purple. Here's new set up and my two new girls. Pineapple Chunk and THC Bomb

You should defol under the scrog to get some airflow. Nothing's getting any light down there anyway! Have you seen The Rooster's scrogs? They look like this:
