Afghan Kush x Black Domina: 450W LED, DWC

21 inches is good, I went with 24 inches and then when it was in flower i brought it down to 18.
Have a look at the first few pages of my Auto Anesthesia Grow in my signature.

No problem,
thanks mate, yes they are really fun as they grow so damn quick. its so much more satisfying because you get to see results daily, but of course the yield is nothing compared to a nice big photoperiod that has spent 2 months in veg.

Day 4,
Little one is looking happy under the CFL,
I can tell after growing a few indica plants that this is gonna have some seriously fat leaves on it!

DAY 6:

Ok everyone,
After some serious thinking, I'v decided I'm going to go for a plant of the month attempt!
I have changed direction with this grow and set up my complete DIY DWC rig.
I have taken my AK x BD seedling out of the soil, washed the dirt off & placed it in some rock wool and then in my DWC bucket.
Time will tell if this plant is worthy of a P.O.T.M entry... you'll have to give me about 3 weeks to veg and we'll see if she's ready for some LST to get a beautiful uniformed plant with some fat colas.
I have all the tools and nutes/additives at my disposal so hey... why not right?

Black Domina has an inherent beauty in its genetics which is why I think this plant may be a contender!

Let me know what you think & more importantly...
WISH ME LUCK!!

Here's some pics of my set up and the plant looking mighty healthy:

So I've just ran some test and made some adjustments that you guys might find interesting,
In the pics above you will see my CFL array consisted of 6 24w CFL's in a halo holder, upon testing with my light meter the plant was only receiving 2000 lumens at the canopy (I know lumens aren't the ideal measure for growing but hey its the standard with most growers out here) which is not too bad, but I noticed the light meter would get a higher reading out toward the edge of my DWC bucket, not ideal when the plant is growing in the middle, not too mention the heat coming from 6 24w lamps is pretty intense.
So i cut back on the CFL's, Now I have 2 in the Y configuration right above the plant and my light meter is now reading 8000 lumens (at the same distance) with a fraction of the heat and I'm only using 33% of the total number of lamps... wayyy better!... I have also set up a small fan and attached it to the tent frame... this plant will be much happier and all it cost me was a little testing with trial and error.
I will definitely go back to the 'Halo' configuration once the plant is established and I need the light to reach the outer parts of the plant, but for now this is so much more suitable and I'm sure the little one will thank me for it.

Heres a pic of the new config:

Not bad man :) the plant looks like its liking it haha. But cool setup.

Thanks buddy,
Yeah she's looking pretty happy today.
Time will tell though.

Nice job with the lights. Amazing what just a few adjustments will do sometimes. :thumb:

Thanks Tea,
Yeah she seems a lot happier,
Im keen for her roots to hit the water so I can see how happy she will stay though.

Day 10:
She has finally taken to the DWC and started more vegetative growth,
I always get nervous when transplanting to DWC with the slow down of growth until the babies get used to the changes.
But she's looking pretty happy now...

Best of luck with it:welcome:

Day 10:
My little fella has just shot its first root from the net pot!
I have added 1/3 strength grow nutrients to the DWC bucket and will update progress tomorrow.
