So HID lamps lose 30% of their light output after using 30% of their rated life.
And HPS loses 10% of its light output @ 50% of its rated life.
Sooooo:
if your rated average life was 12,000 hours of a hid bulb.
then 30% of that is 4,000 hours
if you burn 18 hrs per day, then you will be at 30% reduced light in 222 days
Burning 18 hrs per day for a year is 6,570 hrs per year
It a year's time, you will be burning 1000 watts for 600 watts of light.
