Air pump ran into the bottom of soil

Interesting idea, but can't really think of the situation that would mimic in nature.
Makes me wonder though ....what if you aerated the water prior to watering?

I always aerate the water prior to watering, usually anywhere from 5 mins to one hour before. I could not tell you definitely that it helps but I always do it. I use one of those portable bubblers they use for minnow buckets when fishing. I suppose I should try a side by side experiment but I usually grow all different strains so I don’t think it would be of much use.

Yea do aerate the water prior to watering . I can’t really tell if it does make a dif. Well I think I found my weekend project . Making a pot with some sort of air iragtation system in it. Any opinions on the way I run the air house ? I.e. just one loop at the base. Or run a spiral all he way up ? Or just do a standing line in the middle ?

so This is what I got so far , But need input on the lining of the pot itself . I was thinking screen material for windows .my concern is it will detirerate at a high level and no longer hold the soil. Have about 3.5 “ of space in the bottom and that is the res/ water Will be. Any thoughts ?

I've played around with the idea for awhile but have not actually put one together yet.
You can use a fabric pot, or a fabric shopping bag to line the net pot. May even be able to find some Coco net pot liners that would fit in there.

You've got a system that leans towards autopots and sub irrigated planters if your looking for more ideas.
The hydro soil guy was featured in high times a handful of years ago. It's a neat idea that other people found weight in previously but it hasn't gained much traction since then. His system is unique because it actually aerates the soil, not just the water being used to hydrate the soil.

So I have another two ? I grow autos will the roots have enough time to reach the bottom res. Witch I wanna say is about 7-8” down . And if the roots reach the water ( yes there will be a air pump runjng) should I be putttjng extra nuts in the water it self . Or just keep it plain water . I will still be watering with nuts . Or should I stop and only let the water feed it from the bottom. And only wet the top with reg water just to keep it moist.
Yes the roots will grow down to the bottom without issue.
As far as the other questions that's part of the dilemma. It depends on the balance of your medium, nutes, lighting, strain and environment.
If I were not so poor I would consider building a setup similar to what he has going here.

Completed , thanks for the shopping bag idea turbo . Just had to cut/ Sew. Now I just have to get another light for my tent . I have 2 soils under my light . I’m already pushing it . Right now the water level is about 1/4” below the pot. Should I submerge the soil in the water or have a gap between the water and the btm. Of the pot. ? Side note can u post videos on her I tried but it would not load.

I would leave an air gap to try and avoid drowning the roots.

ive did a few half assed air injection ideas, but gave up. I like your setup tho.. You plan to keep water to the top with the air, or you going to go just water like usual, then air to the roots?
couple things to concider, if you roots get dry because of lack of water, they will air prune through your rootball is my thinking, back when i was tryin to do this. so i think its nessassary to keep the roots in water all the time. the other problem i seemed to have, was root disruption do to air bubbles that constantly keep roots moving inside the soil, not sure if the roots like it tho. when i did this, i just put a hole in the bottom of a pot, then put a food strainer to line the bottom so the air enetering just filled the bottom cavity, then moved its way to the top thru the soil.
very interested in seeing your outcome, hope you follow thru with this.
