Anyone growing Gelato?

Maybe a couple are growing it already. Give it another 6 months for people to catch up to you. Lots of growers are like you and will have ordered or plan to order them. It takes a while after seeds hit the market to find out good info. Or you could start now and let all the rest of learn from your mistakes LMAO. Good luck with it when you pop them.

Which Gelato are you going to grow? There are so many variations of Gelato now its crazy. I just finished a Grandpa's Gelato (Gelato41 x GrandDaddy Purple) a few weeks back. She wasnt the biggest yielding plant, but what she lacked in yield she made up for with potency! Really easy to grow she didnt need much nutes at all, she didnt really fade much either like most other plants do. Great all day smoke for me!!!

I dont recall gelato being a higher yield strain to be honest but it all depends on the breeder but Gelato is one of those higher thc/terpene strains perfect for making extracts. Im currently growing out a GelatOG from seedsman. She has been a touch temperemental but is definitely on the mend and should really produce well in the end. The OG part of it i believe will bump up the yields some hopefully.

I’ve got 2 Seedsman Gelato OG’s going that are 24 days old. Topped after the 4th node and will be potted up to 3 gallon nursery pots in the morning and get defoliated in a week.

Ya think??? Perhaps just a bit...Seedsman Jack Herrer looks similar...But the way the lower branches are shooting up makes me wonder.

Just potted them plus 2 Seedsman Jack Herrers, a 00 Bubblegum and a RQS Sherbet Queen to 3 gal containers this morning. Pics are the roots after 10 days in a 1 gallon pot from a solo cup.

How far along are your girls? I'm dying to cut the huge fan leaves blocking light but I just transplanted to final pots today. I doubt the plants would even notice a few missing but waiting a day or two won't kill me...just feels like it when I see the leaves blocking light to the branches.

Large fan leaves do a lot of work processing what the plants need. Always best to leave them as long as possible. Lots of time strains will run branches straight up the stalk if the need light. I have learn it is best not to defoliate tell I turn the lights back for flower. I then do another trim after stretch is finished..

I just harvested the Seedsman Gelato OG’s. Great plants to grow each with its own pheno.

One stretched a lot but her yield was nice. A minor hiccup with one at the end when the lights got bumped and she started to reveg but with some amber she was harvested and yielded 323g of wet bud.

The smaller of the two only gave 167g.

Both are in the fridge drying but we did sample a bud via the dehydrator. Very resinous and sticky with what should turn out to be nice flavor. I’ll have to resample it later today and update. I remember it hitting hard and that’s about it. Lol. I harvested 3 strains at once and sampled them all the same day so things got fuzzy toward the end.

One plant is due to come out of the from the fridge this week and jarred for cure. The bigger still has over a week left to dry.
