Apparent pest problem

It appears I have a pest problem, but I've not observed any pests, macro or microscopically. These "eaten" areas appear in a few places among my plants.

Any ideas as to the cause of this?

Welcome. From the damage level, they should be big critters. Check under the leaves, and in the top 1/2 inch of soil.
