Well, where do I start- I guess I’m going backwards from hydroponic, aquaponic, to soil. The reason I went back to soil was simply for the season. My aquaponic greenhouse works great in the summer months and I will re-plant it this coming summer. But for now, I just wanted a little show and tell.
the setup so far
4 room grow, one for starting, 8x10, one for vegging, 10x12, and 2 main rooms for flowering, 10x12 (16 plants will go there, not quite setup yet but will be) and 26x12 (32 plants)
main grow room has 8 hps lights, 4@ 600w double ended and 4 @ 1000w, 1 DE and 3 regular bulbs. 6 are cool tubed and heat from cool tubes vent back into room to heat it, and will be vented outside in warmer weather.
smaller flower room has 4x1000 hps, regular bulbs.
veg room has 2x1000w mh lights and a few LEDs for extra coverage.
8 inch fan for intake plus passive intake vents, and 3- 8 inch fans for exhaust. No issues on ventilation. Plus 2-6 inch fans for the cool tubes. Lotsa fans. 2 box fans and 3 oscillating fans for air movement (That's just in main grow room) No issues on much anything.
240v Light speed switching controller in place for the main grow room, and a 240v timer for other smaller flower room which is not in use yet.
plants are flowered in mostly 4 gallon buckets with a few 6 gallon buckets as well.Currently we have 33 plants growing in week 5 of flower. Am using LST on all, branches are individually wired down. I just want to say tho- we did a side by side grow a while back, led vs HPS and we (sorry to all you mars hydro LED fans) got rid of the LEDS for flower. They just didn’t perform, but do ok for seedling stage. Now some pics...they are newest at 5 weeks into flower back to about 3 weeks in flower.
oh yeah, we are using Canna brand nutes, expensive but good.

Entering week 6 of flower. All is well. Another quick pic of flower room and flower 1 is a moby, flower 2 is a jacks girl.
put in a 80L barrel to keep water reserve in flower room, we like to keep the water tepid instead of freezing cold. These are drinking about 2 Litres(quarts) per day on average. Just finishing up the phosphorous/potassium boost stage, back to a little different nute schedule for a few weeks.

Sorry about this being a boring grow as nothing is going wrong (yet) for y’all to help with. No pests other than a few determined fruit flies and aside from a nutrient screwup (my fault for having bad eyes) earlier on in grow that resulted in some burnt roots and slow growth in a few plants, all is great. Here’s a week 7 pic, taken just as the lights were slowly popping on this morning. The different colours are due to different lights coming up to intensity at different rates. All are hps, but some de and some not, and strangely, there are different visible lights. Again, although pics are right side up, they post disoriented on here no matter what size image I choose, very strange glitch there. Moby dick in foreground and jacks girl way at back.

Getting close to harvest, here’s a few bud pics. It turns out there were 2 different strains of Moby I received, one strain stays quite green and the other autumns out to very dark purple. Here are purple moby

It’s been a fun run, am harvesting now and buried in trimmings. Was a good grow and looks like a ten pound run. First time growing in this space, had to work out ventilation kinks and temperature control. We got it down now. For the next grow, which was started 8 weeks ago just got switched to flower, we have 50 plants in 4 gallon pails, spread over 2 flower rooms, 32 in one room under 8 - 1000w hps, and 16 in other room under 4-600w double ended cool tubes bulbs. Could fit a lot more plants in, but it gets too cramped and dirty. Plus, 50 plants is enough work. We LST the heck out of them and top a few times as well. Wire the individual branches so they grow wide. Each plant ends up with 30-40 top colas and won’t reach 30 inches more or less when done. Have 55 clones going already for next grow, some for inside and 14 for the greenhouse, then I will I re tool the aquaponic greenhouse and stock it for the first free grow of the year. Will get an easy two grows out of it before next winter. Sunny days ahead :)

Here are a few pics, had purple moby, regular moby, and Jacks girlfriend (35%thc possible with this dynamic hybrid, Jack Herer x GSC mix) which I cloned the hell out of, beautiful small trees. Also the pink things...no idea, and one looked like a gelato...wondering if our seed source was a little mixed up.
