Aquarium Trickle Filter

I researched these forums and many others and have not seen anyone using a trickle filter for a hydro grow and wonder why. I've been a salt water aquarium hobbyist for years. A trickle filter achieves very high levels of oxygen saturated water in fresh and salt water. Air stones are considered very old technology for oxygenating water for fish health. Are there any aquarium hobbyist that have experimented with trickle filters for a hydro grow?

Tucker99,
I have kept many aquariums over the years, both salt and fresh, and I do understand the importance of O in the water column for fish. My trickler is always in use for one of tanks and I don't have a spare to try for Hydro, but it sounds like an excellent idea. Bubblers and pumps ... I have many of those lying around and have had such good results that I have stopped perfecting my Hydro methods. I bet a trickle filter would work great for DWC and Ebb/Flow Table. Please post if you try it out! Best of luck
