Australia: Hills Police Uncover $400,000 Cannabis Crop In Castle Hill House

A cannabis crop with an estimated street value of more than $400,000 has been uncovered at a Castle Hill home.

Police executed a search warrant at the house in Francis St, Castle Hill yesterday morning.

They allegedly found 138 mature cannabis plants growing under lights in five rooms at the house in a hydroponic set-up.

A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Castle Hill police station.

The Vietnamese national on a tourist visa will face Parramatta Court today charged with cultivate prohibited drug (commercial quantity) and bypass main power supply.

Police dismantled the hydroponic set up, including lights, transformers and have disposed of the plants and chemicals.

There have been several other similar finds in the Hills.

Police uncovered a 222 marijuana plants growing at a home in Keswick St, Castle Hill in April following a tip off and in the same month Castle Hill police uncovered a cannabis crop at a house in Lesley Ave, Carlingford where 250 marijuana plants growing under lights in the house.
