So I started a decent homegrow at this point. It all started because I was smoking some good bud and caught the sour smell of a roasting seed. I dug through the rest of the bag and pulled out a few others. Well after doing all the research, and setting up my tent for photos, it looks like I may be the proud father of a bunch of Zebra Cake autos. Doing a little LST now. If it’s obvious I’m mistaken please let me know... first grow.

The internode spacing was so damn tight. I’ve got like 6 nodes in the space of about 2” of stem space. The growth patterns were what got me thinking they were autos...

Tight node spacing is also indicative of a light heavy in the blue spectrum. I, too, once thought I had an auto flower (cannabis ruderalis), based on certain physical characteristics. Over time, however, I learned this was not the case. A true auto flower will sprout female flowers without a change in light cycle (i.e., going from 18/6 to 12/12). This means that the plant can get 12+ hours of light per day and continue to grow /benefit. A normal photo period plant would revert back to the vegetative stage after a few days of light longer than 12/12.

I actually aim for tight node spacing on my plants, be them autos or photos... makes for some thick dense buds in my experience.
