Barliman's Perpetual Journal

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my organic, perpetual journal. At the moment, I'm growing autoflowers as I only have space for one small tent (1m x 1m x 2m), and it feels easier for me to run perpetually with autos.

I currently have 5 autos at day 71 from sprout. They are all growing organically in Biobizz All-Mix, mixed around 60/40 with perlite. I use a little Bio- Silicon and Alg-A-Mic at around 4 weeks and Plant Magic "Oldtimer's Organic" Bloom nutrients from 4 weeks to harvest. I don't flush as it's unnecessary in organic gardening.

They are under a 600w dual spectrum Omega bulb, in a cooltube. A 5" inline fan pulls the air through a carbon filter, the cooltube, and expels the warm air to waste.

The strains I have currently at day 71 are the following:

THC Bomb Auto ~ Bomb Seeds
Pandora Auto ~ Paradise Seeds
Lemon Haze Auto ~ Emerald Triangle Seeds
Skunk #1 Auto ~ Sensi Seeds
Bubba Kush Auto ~ Dinafem

I have another plant in the sixth spot, at day 40.

Dark Devil Auto ~ Sweet Seeds

The tent is a touch overcrowded at the moment. Pandora, Bubba Kush and the Lemon Haze are 3 of the largest autoflowers I've grown, nothing Lowryder about those! They caught me by surprise a little.

I hope you enjoy the journal and please feel free to ask any questions / make any observations.

Here's the Dark Devil at day 42 (2 days ago). She's in All-Mix and perlite (60/40), and being fed 1ml of Plant Magic Bloom and 2ml Canna Bio-Boost every watering. I'm watering to run off every 4 days and she's in an 11L pot, under 600w Omega dual spectrum HPS.

Wet weight for Skunk #1 from Sensi Seeds was 262g (9.2oz), which after a dry and cure, will net us in the region of 70g (2.5oz) dry.

2.5oz per Auto will more than take care of our needs. Especially if it's of a decent potency.

I wash the buds in plain, cold water and then shake the excess water off. I then clip the individual floral clusters away from the stem and put them into my dry tent.

Here are the clipped flowers.

Just a little update. The Lemon Haze came down today, at day 84.

Her wet weight, individual flower clusters (stems removed) was 425g (14.9oz). This will whittle down to around 114g dry (4oz).

The buds look super Hazey, like strings of glistening green pearls, with red curly hair. :)

Harvest pics to come.

Here are a couple of images of Lemon Haze Automatic by Emerald Triangle Seeds. She'd shot out a couple of nanners about 4 weeks ago and there were a handful of seeds. They were all, however, immature so I haven't kept any.

Here she is, harvested on day 84 from sprout.

I've just made an order with Mephisto for a few of their lines.

I have Ripley's OG, Sour Crack, Hubbabubbasmelloscope, Walter White and Skywalker Kush, which is a special release for 420.

With an order of these special lines, you get either a freebie of Skylar White (please, please, please) or Skyrone Stomper. To be honest, they'll both be awesome but there's something special about Walt and Skylar growing side by side. ;)

Bubba Kush by Dinafem is getting the chop tomorrow, at day 89. Here she is today, with all her fans off.

After 3 gruelling hours, she's down and drying. Buds were washed in plain water, gently shaken dry, and individual buds clipped from the stem. They then go to my dry tent and sit on a net for 4/5 days.

Wet weight was 450g (16oz) which will dry and cure down to about 121g (4.3oz)

The buds are heavy, sticky and beautifully fragrant.

What's happening everyone? I've got to join in on your journal. We (nismo12 and I) have decided to start growing autos as well as the photos we already grow. I get to "man" the autos. So, all the info you have that you could Ross out here to me would be much appreciated. I hope I can grow some beauties like you did. Good job! :thumb:

Hey Canna, thanks for dropping by, I'm happy to help wherever I can. Was there any particular info you were after?

Peace.

Nothing in particular. Maybe you have some insight to the dos/don'ts. We are growing 11 or so photo plants now. Our first auto grew a good taproot but didn't take to the soil. I'm still a little hopeful for her, but she's not popping like she should be. We dropped another in the water last night, hoping she will adapt better than her sis.
