Barneys Farm Cup Winners Bonanza Starring Root Rapid 8 Pot RWDC

Wow nice job on these defuser rings. When you add attachments you should make them full size. Way easier to view. Things are definitely looking better So your ppm took a huge increase. After sitting and your ph went higher. It sounds like your buffers are inhibiting your nutrients from doing there job. Or some sort of nutrients lockout. I wish I hade an understanding of your chemicals. The way they are being used is going to be the issue. In my opinion there is always something that has to go first. But not before this one lol and they don’t tell you these things. Like for instance my general hydroponic always micro first but not if you use a sillica. But then calmag befor or after sillica. Who knows. But the extra air will help a lot.

From the info i have found on the golden tree usage , water first ,i then used the hydroguard , nutes , then once ppm is set then add the golden tree gave it and hour to distribute among the pots and mix further. Then i did ph and ppm checks again. I think using non filtered or ro water could be why it has this behaviour of initial spiking. I cant allow it to sit anywhere for 24 hours and have to hose it direct as needed. All is very settled again with the water level going down now and the ph at 6.0 , ppm dropping slightly too. I finally ( again!!!) feel that it could be sorted now with the extra air pump and diffusers. Not sure now wether using two pumps for 4 pots each or them both feeding all the rings with 2 inlets on them ?
Air is throughout the whole pot now , am assuming the pump will push as much air out despite wether into 1 or 10 , just weaken the more its shared ?.
Sad seeing the rot hit the g13 but hopeful the hydroguard and the bennies within golden tree can overun the pythium eventually. Feeling very positive and when they are awake , they look fairly good . Thanks icemann420 . Good to feel supported and supervised a bit to be honest. Hate being crap at anything and so love the MJ amd her gift. Hoping to get some LED drive and thirst from seeing your journals too. I so want to be converted by a suppliers generosity and trial , am thinking of prostituting myself to them with ass in the air by mailshots.lol. nearly had success with smokesara's interest but thought i was not "active enough on other posts " ???!?!!. Lol
Will work on the full size pics but wont allow me to post any other way at the moment?

Update:. Realising 3 months gone by since putting this one together and all i have to show is a couple of healthy plants and some absolute mingers. Damnit. Bit the bullet and resourced all the same nutes as i see used here and on advice from a few members. Now have flora trio , great white ( arriving monday) , hydroguard , cal mag , golden tree and silicon to het this sorted. Have icemann420 's feed schedule for the trio nutes , the only area i camt change is the shit chlorinated uk poisen water. Standing for 24 hours not a possibility yet but working on a solution.
The girls have been very slowly growing amd root building for months now it seems. Frustrating to not jave trees by now but so many inconsistencies in my mixes etc.. , holding back for seedlings etc... has taken a huge toll. Fingers crossed i can pull this round now.

Sussed it !!!!!
Following a catastrophe with 100 odd litres off water emptying in my roof space, wrecking the ceiling and causing our bed to be a waterbed , complete with cascade of water, turning to hours of dribbling, no electricity , a panicking wife who began looking for an ark to highjack , i sussed it !!!!
The barrel was meant to allow me to stand my shitty tap water to rid it of chloramine and chloride etc... tje box holding it had other ideas !!!.
I had to resort to buckets to fill the res and realised i jad been overestimating the amount of water in the whole system by 40 litres ( twat!!!) The shop said about 15ltres a pot for filling which i followed blindly by hosing the water into it and worked it out on the 15 litres each bucket for nutes etc...
I havr been massively overfeeding them from the start and explains so much for such a stupid error. Now sorted to the real 90litres (24 us gallons) and have mixed the advised nutes schedule up no so here it is.
Flora trio ,
Hydroguard
Great white
Calmag
Siliconmax
Golden tree
The difference was noticed in a day. The roots are white and crispy all over the pots. The growth is taking off now and have been traini g the liberty haze a little and stripping a bit too. Feels very healthy in the room now with all green across the farm. Now lets get this done.

holy shit batman, the wife must have had a hernia!! figures it was as simple as an oversight, been there done that. plants are looking way better, roots are deffo looking a lot better.

your nute lineup looking solid too. bang! if I can say something about the great white (my personal opinion which a lot of the time is bollocks)....i don't think it helps to add it to your res water. I use mycorrizae (can't be arsed to spellcheck that) on the roots when I am transplanting into the net pots (with hydroton) or into soil but that's it. I've read that it needs to be applied directly on the roots in order for it to take hold. I've also read that that bennies and myco compete, so I use it only for transplant when I've got roots exposed. I just think it does little good in a dwc res...

thanks for the comments islandgrow. so glad it turned around. Never us3d great white before but on advice from icemann420 i used it to help feed the beenies amd roots too. does seem to have been a good move. the roots are living the new grub and growthbjas speeded up. soon be into flower now thankfully. been a nightmare to date. lol
peace and blessings

Update: week 3 proper. wow what a difference good mix makes ( feels like a staple comment for each update) . I am enjoying this grow finally. The new feed schedule is a doddle to follow and use now , so confidence grows with each week. The canopy training is coming along well for all the ladies but the Liberty is huge with loads of heads and potential baseball bat colas if the lower can join up in the stretch. The 3 Utopia Haze are still fairly small for their ages and it is suprising that they survived !. The g13 Haze is getting bigger after her defol and stripping some of the smaller growth out.
The Laughing Buddha in the growcaps is only makinf it because i have started feeding her plagron grow to replace the exhausted soil. also mixing golden tree and white shark in the waterings too. Still not a fan of soil as i am way too heavy handed !. The Peyote Critical is spreading her 4-way out wide and i have given her a strip back of the small growth to. Rootballs are taking on some good weight and a good indication of the fruit they will bare !!. heehee.

Bro, I would only grow in soil again if I was gonna do a strictly organic grow with super soil (like subcool’s mix)...DWC is where it’s at if you have the time/patience for the ph & ppm adjustments. Your girls are looking great now...would be even better if you had a good start. You be a DWC convert in no time!

seeing the turn round has me gripped now mate. bad start has made me determined to rinse what i can from this crop ready for perfect start on next one . all the support and help has been invaluable. love 420 for it. i can see the enjoyment in ppm and ph checks and charting it as i go is helpful too. cheers fella

Update: Day 3 flower.
changed res for transition week mix and flipped them over ( 3days ago)
i am impressed with their recovery to this point now and am praying that none hermie from their stresses. the Liberty haze is a beasty and has so much growth to get thinning out, she is a great grower this far, hoping her budstacks are as good too.
Peyote Critical has bushed up so much and has a thick canopy of growing shoots going on. She is a 4way mainlined beast already. had to raise the lights a little for these two. The utopia haze are a mixed bag with only 1 not really showing her strengths yet , the other two have ballooned in size and vitality over the past 3 weeks.
G13 Haze is looking so green and vibrant. a little smaller than her neighbour liberty , but i think the stretch will sort that.
Laughing Buddha is getting healthier the more i feed her now. being a sativa, she is going to be massive. she has been vegged for an eternity it seems now. exhausted all the grow caps nutes and nearly didnt make it. she is caged and trained so will be manageable hopefully. lol

well its day 112 since this grow in rdwc started been a lifetime now it feels but the girls have gone crazy since flipping and the stretch has evened so much out canopy wise. all have signs of being girls now 11 days i flower and still have a little time stretching before final bud build starts. Am confident of a good yield when i look over the room when i open the tent. It is amazing how quickly this grow has turned. love the barneys farm genetics and their ability to take so much stick and still come back like the pics below. Have been supercropping to get the shapes and eveness , which seems to have worked well.

The Laughing buddha is looking great compared to her starvation days and no regrets on hitting her with plagron to get her to the finish. she is scarily big now stretching too, she is an 11 weeker so will be fun wrestling with her ( tickets available for the fight on ticketmaster and ppv!) .
nute program is great and they all seem to be loving the feeds. Ph has been cycling well between 6.2-5.5-6.0. ppm has been gairly stable between 680-760 and the water level has been dropping perfectly. topping up every other day to keep res constant till end of week 2 flower and res change.
now i am having fun !

Update : day 14 flower. res change done and have stable ph at 5.9 so far and a ppm of 560. This does seem a bit low so would appreciate any advice here @Icemann420 or rdwc guys. have mixed it to the gh nutes feed schedule to the amounts from the halved already one i have . with rdwc , not sire how vital high ppm is as read so many differing viewpoints. The girls shiw a little tip burn in places but i think that may be the Golden tree increase to 3ml/gallon. not bad and only a tinge of ginge !. They are looking vety healthy including the Laughing Buddha now. I think she is jealous of the attention the other girls are getting so is " peacocking" to attract my attentions. lol.
seeing how quickly the Peyote Critical and the Liberty Haze are forming good bud sites is a relief . i am unsure of one of the Utopias actually being something other than that !. she is smaller and her leaves are stubbyier. i did mix up with seeds when germing and she may be a liberty haze ( only a pygmy compared to possible sister). wjll leave her ne for hash now i think. G13 is all good. very slight in comparison to her roomies but forming up ok. hopefully pics wont be too many or dull as so early days but here goes. any advice welcome ( specially on the ppm issue !!)

Yah boy those ladies are looking mighty fine. Great job ganjagrandaddy
all thanks to your advice and guidance mate. thank you. any advice on the low ppm of 570(ish) ? have followed the schedule u gave me to the latter but worried this seems lower than should be. plants seem happy enough but donthey need more food than this ?. thanks in advance

That’s a less is more schedule if you feel they need more just bump it up in equal parts. I have another schedule but it involves more Chemicals

brilliant icemann420 thanks for the response. no signs of underfeeding yet and they do look good on the lesser amounts so far but dont want to cock it up after finally getting it right. lol

Definitely looking right. And @Emilya about the great white. I agree with your statement. Great white in dwc is not being used to it’s maximum benefit due to being in powdered forms. Now the replacement would be orca by the same co but it’s liquid form . It absorbs better through the roots. But great white gets mixed in the Hydrotun and in the Rez bucket. The air pumps keep it suspended in the Rez. I have had noticeable differences using it and not.

will order the orca icemann420. makes sense about powdered format not mixing totally. i usually mix the shit out of it into a 10 litre first then slowly introduce it. Will change to orca though. following earlier conversation i did add more to the res so now have a 748ppm in there. increased it by 1/4 of original ml per gallon so now using 7.5ml instead of 5ml ect.... so far so good lets see if they like it in the morning.
Thanks for the help and advice guys. very much appreciated.
