Best bud condition for pressing?

A couple of questions for all you squeeezers out there. A local shop has a rosin press for rent and I thought I try it out with the trimmings from my latest harvest. They supply everything for 10 bucks an hour and a taste of the finished product. Got about 2 ounces of uncured trim from 2 plants exclusive of stalk, mostly popcorn buds and leaves.
What's the best condition for the buds to maximize the yield? Cured? Green? A bit of both?

Do I need to decarboxylate the buds before pressing?

Thanks all

Cured and at about 62% humidity is best.

If you dab rosin you don't need to decarboxylate it. If you use the rosin in edibles, tinctures, or infusions you will need to decarboxylate it. Don't decarb the buds before pressing them.

For best terpene and flavor retention, I recommend to squish as soon as it's ready to jar. That makes mine usually about a week after harvest. I usually have cured bud at all stages and have squished several strains at many different stages up to about 6 months in the jar. Best results for me are dried and ready for jarring...or squishing.
