Black slime in reservoir

I have had a problem with black slime forming in my reservoir tank. I am using RO water in a 30 gal barrel to store water for my 8 plant grow. I use air stones and a fish tank heater set to 73F (22-23C). Is there anything I can add to res to inhibit the slime without harming my plants?

for us based growers check out botanicare hydroguard... if you are north of the us then it’s called z9 most grow shops carry the product

The enzymes mentioned above will help. Also ensure the Rez is blacked out to prevent light penetration, a pump will increase water temps slightly but keeping the water circulating or running those air stones will help. I’m soil grower myself but there are tons of hydro folks here. More will jump in hopefully to offer more input

Water temp is a little high I try to stay 68 and under ...and what everything else 13 said haha

Thank you all for your input. I'll be picking up some hydroguard and ditching the heater.
