TUCSON, AZ - Border Patrol Agents seized two tons of marijuana worth an estimated $3.3 million in street value last weekend west of Tucson.

Federal law enforcement agents seized 4,145 pounds of marijuana worth $3.3 million and two drug smuggling vehicles, in four separate incidents, last weekend according the U.S. Border Patrol.

In the first incident, agents on horseback and other law enforcement officials found suspected drug backpackers and seized 25 bundles containing 1,665 pounds of marijuana worth $1.3 millio.

In a second incident, 512 pounds of marijuana estimated at $409,000 were seized.

Two other incidents resulted in agents finding approximately one ton of marijuana worth about $1.5 million, border patrol agents said.
