Ok so I did buy the 1000watt LED LIKESUN grow light. How far away from plants should it be? And is this one big enough for that tent? It says about 4ft x 4ft but.....?

Ok so I did buy the 1000watt LED LIKESUN grow light.

My condolences.

And is this one big enough for that tent?

<EXPLETIVE> NO!!!!!. Maybe if you were growing a fern in there. Or... moss. That "1000watt" light... isn't. I just wasted a few minutes of my life looked at some ads for that thing. And in none of them could I find any mention of the actual wattage of the device, or even a "figure it out yourself" amperage at a given voltage specification. I did, however, see that, at a 30cm (11.811") distance, it is only capable of producing 364 μmol/m2/sec. That'd be like the bare minimum during the vegetative growth phase. And I'm guessing that the amount of light drops off rather sharply from that as you move away from the "hot spot" directly underneath the LED panel.

Are you working with a pretty limited budget? Mars Hydro seems to be a pretty good compromise (in regards to money spent vs. performance). By that, I mean... You could probably find more powerful lighting, but it won't be as cheap. And you could probably find cheaper lights, but they won't be as good. I'll "page" the company's forum rep, and she can make a suggestion or two. Of course, there are other companies that offer products that would work in your grow space, and some of them are also forum sponsors (and are welcome to jump in, too, lol). @SmokeSara , which product(s) would give reasonable performance in a grow space that is 40" x 40" (101.6 cm x 101.6 cm) in area?

If you do end up deciding to keep the LED panel you have already bought, my suggestion is to reconsider your decision, lol. But, failing that, to switch to a smaller grow space.

Well just in case anyone was wondering my plants LOVE that tent!! I bought a Bible , I’ve been packing my brain full of knowledge and I get it’ll be a trial and error, if I lose a few, oh well, but so far all my autos have gone to flower or are budding and smell amazing and look even better!!

@Yamamama74 everyone is going to have their opinions. Don't let em discourage you. I remember when ufo lights were all the rage back in the early days of led and you never see them being used now. People still managed to grow some great plants under them. Your tent will be a constantly changing and evolving environment. That may be your first light, but more than likely wont be your last. You may even decide down the road, what’s all this 315/630 CMH nonsense everyone’s raving about? and ditch led’s all together. Have fun and good luck! :)

It’s ok, he has a tortured soul lol good luck on ur grow, I just got my second light, and wish I’d got a different one b4 it even got here, there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just name of the game lol the more we learn the more new stuff we buy lol

Wow....that’s a long winded bash everything I bought Post. I asked for help....lol

Back in the day, whenever someone would buy a Phototron and ask for advice, I'd tell them to find another sucker and unload the thing ASAP. Because they wanted advice. If I had, instead, smiled, nodded, patted them on the head, and been their "yes man," well... I wouln't have been helping them  .

OtOH, since that appears (now) to be what you were actually seeking... Yeah, lady, great choice. Probably save you all kinds of work on harvest day ;).
