First time making hash with the bubble bags / ice / water method. I have no problem using water and ice, I'm just curious if using snow will produce the same thing...
My understanding is that it is the action of the sharp and hard ice cubes colliding with the (cold and therefore brittle) trichome stalks that breaks them off of the leaves/buds. That's what I've always read and never had much reason to doubt it. But I don't "know" this for sure because I've never tried it without ice.
I would be worried what was in the snow. I know some guys who won't even use store bought ice. They all swear by making your own ice out of RO water. I don't think snow is very clean.
