Oh, I just figured he was dead after his wife posted that he was ill last year and he never returned.
I haven't been on the site he mods in a while... so he may have died. I'll have to see.

Thank You MrS ! I was wondering where you've been. I guess you are working a lot & staying busy. I just never can tell who gets banned until I get a notice saying not to mention that person again. Some of the ones that got banned I can't figure out why. It sucks, because it's usually the more advanced growers leaving us with a bunch of newbies that I can't learn anything from. Sure glad you are still here !
Your calculations have my plants looking much better than usual. I'm feeding all 10 at the 5 gr. with Terpinator added,
Only 1 out of the 10 looks like it could use a little stronger nutes.
As far as work goes.... I sure hope it happens soon. Been 9 months that I've been searching now. Nobody in my line of work has posted a job opening in months. I don't really know how to do anything else that pays decent. I'm about to make a sign & go stand on the corner. My sign will say "Keep your Money... Give me a Job !" (Min. $20 per hour)
I don't want any handouts. That's not me. I want to work.
I've applied for hundreds of jobs (even though I don't have exp.) but nothing so far. It's getting to be a touchy situation because I'm now behind on my Mortgage a month with no way to pay it. Looks like I'll have to work for a temp agency for a measly $15 p.h. till I find something. Oh boy ! Hard to accept $15 when I usually make $23. Not sure if I can survive on $320 per week less than I usually make. That's a huge difference. I'm just too old for this or to be starting over. All this is has got me feeling like a nothing & hopeless. Sure hope something gives soon.
Don't mean to be so negative. Just really stressed out not being able to find work. And now the COVID Variant is spreading so I can imagine things will only get worse.

Sorry about the job sitch. You must not be in one of those places where want ads outnumber folks looking.

Keep at it and someone will give you a break!

I live in a Republican state which is bad news for job seekers. Employers know are Gov. has cut us off unemployment so they've lowered their starting wages. Jobs that were $22 p.h. before the Pandemic are now starting at $17 p.h. They know they have us over a barrel & they are taking full advantage of it.

i keep hearing how employers can't get folk. there's a pile of people leaving their jobs here as the economy starts back up. a lot of of pent up demand for better working conditions and more competitive wages.

it makes no sense employers would try that strategy. locally they are completely skint of folk who have any work experience. teenagers are getting 50K/yr management jobs in retail and food industry here because the businesses can't get people.

have you thought of relocating ? there's loads of people moving to other places here to take advantage of employment opportunities. a solar panel business here had to close because the majority of its workers left the province to work in the same industry elsewhere.

i'm not sure what you do but maybe sub-contracting is an option instead of working for another company outright. that's another trend that is gaining momentum here.

I've already sent my resume to 7 companies today. I try to send out 10 per day. Calling Manpower today to see if I can get some temp work for now.

I wish I could relocate. I hate AZ. But my wife had a double lung transplant & her Transplant team is here so can't really leave the area.

i don't know what you are trained in, but you'd be working here for sure. we're short of skilled labour where i am. the non-skilled is not as tight, but even some low level stuff goes unfilled.

I'm what they call a Bindery Machine Operator. I take the flat sheets after they are printed & turn them into books, magazines, posters, banners, business forms, boxes, etc. I can set up & operate several machines to within 0.010" accuracy.
Back in the 80's & 90's only men were operators & had 5-10 girls running around in halter tops & short shorts as helpers. I was in my 20's & what guy in his 20's would give that job up ? Looking back, I wish I'd of changed careers as this one doesn't pay enough. Not when guys are driving water trucks at construction sites making $25. You don't even need a brain to do that. When I see that, I believe I should be getting paid closer to $35 since I actually have a skill with over 30 years experience. But that wont happen in this country as long as our govt. keeps stopping each other from getting anything done.

LOL, I never thought of that, so ya I guess I could have. I try and keep my nose clean around here. It's better for my health.

No, not negative. It's your journal and you have lots of ears here. Speaking out helps, regardless of the issue at hand. I hear many stories like yours and it hurts that we can't just step in and say 'you're hired'. I'd find work for you in a heartbeat. :fingerscrossed:

I think the stress of not finding work did it's thing early this morning. About midnight I woke up out of the blue with a terrible pain on the upper left side of my chest. The past few nights I was getting this slightly; but nothing like this morning. Went to the E.R. around 1 in the morning. Took blood, x-Rays, etc. I was there for about 10 hours or so. They wanted me to stay for observation for 24 hours; but I had to refuse it due to no insurance right now. They did sign me up for state medical benefits; but till it gets approved nothing is paid for. I got a call yesterday from the state's medical assistance & they said I was eligible so I should have insurance in a week or two. Then I'll be able to see my primary care doctor who will send me for testing at a heart specialist. Heart, shoulder & left arm is still hurting now; but not much I can do about it. I guess if I up & disappear you'll know what happened. I just can't handle this much stress. I need a job so I can quit worrying so damned much whether or not I'm going to lose my home. It's all I think about 24/7 & see no hope in sight. I'm debating on trying for disability at this point. I guess I'll know more once I talk to my doc.

Hey Buds,

I'm sorry that you're going through such a rough patch. I've been in somewhat similar circumstances, and yeah....its rough. It's hard to keep on top, and feels like a mountain waiting to crush you. It's hard, and I hope you keep your chin up my friend, better times are always around the corner. Put your name in for disability- everything and anything, and don't be shy to lean on the wonderful community here :green_heart:

I'm glad you're getting sorted for insurance Buds. At least that's one less thing to worry about. I'd try to get that temp work if you can. I did that when I was unemployed and it made grocery shopping a heck of a lot less stressful.

Good luck with the testing.

:peace:
