C99, C99xDiesel, White Rhino DWC Medi-Grow - 2010!

Hi 420magazine,

This forum was an eye opener for me, this site was the inspiration, the first grow journals I'd ever read, and my have I read hundreds since that first one some six months ago, I believe Boss' poor man's grow was it.

After reading, reading, mining for gold nuggets of knowledge and reading some more, I finally germinated some beans after receiving that magical card.

Let's introduce the girls with a quick recap of the veg phase!

We have three beautiful ladies from an initial five plants, one of each strain.
Strains: Cinderella 99, C99 x NYC Diesel and a (crazy) White Rhino crossed with an Afghani

Technique: Deep water culture
Medium: Hydroton 4.5' netpots
Reservoir: 20L per res, per plant
Lights: 430W Philips HPS w/ enhanced blue spectrum, 2 6500K 45W CFL, 2 5000K 45W CFL
Nutes: Canna A+B, Cannazym, Calmag. (PK 13/14 for flower production phase)
Temps: 64 Night, 72 day
RH: 40-50%
Air circulation: 2 fans, one exhaust inline fan (~450 CFM) w/ filter for 72 cubic feet.

I don't have many pics of veg, but I'll do a quick recap, as we're almost 20 days into flowering! I'll snap some recent pics when the sun comes up.

So, I was hoping to grow out my plants with a combination of topping and LST.
I topped at the 2nd node leaving 4 axial meristem and LST'd them open.

As you can see, they grew much wider than tall, which is exactly what I wanted.
On the left is NYCDxC99, middle is WRxAfghani, right is C99
(Both the back ones were nice strong males, but I don't have room for that...)

Back left male is gone, back middle I was unsure at this point. Cindy is getting huge!

Here's the results of that 4 cola topping, 4 main branches.

And finally, here's a few days into flowering, C99 is now in the middle, with WR to the right(off the pic)

Couple of her stems are triple leaf nodes, two stems are wierd, mutated or confused, I'll get into that later

Here's one of those confused (2 total) branches on Diesel Cindy.

Anyone know what might cause this? She got really wide, but not symmetrically. Like, 3x wider than deep. When flowering started, she never really stretched and grew this really wide bud and a ton of small leaves. Within the leaves are a ton of flowers. Anyone think she'll eventually stretch out, or forever be a strange crooked budstick?

We learn something new every day! Well you made me giggle with that one too.

Don't worry it usually takes a few days before pepole drop by and from the looks of it i'd expect a really fat bud on Cindy since wide branches = alot of possible water/nute movement to the buds.

Hello newcomers, day 21 has a few attempted closeups with a non-macro lens. We still see a little of the frostyness

Here's one of White Rhino's little buds, the pic is not so great but she's getting fuzzy all over.

Here's my champ C99, the colas are filling in nicely, they'll likely be at least a foot long at the end.

Yeah, those are some unwieldy 50 pounds buckets to lift out. Next go I will probably change medium, I like the hempy buckets I'm keeping the moms in, once a week upkeep right now since they're small.

I love the growth rate in DWC, but in the small space I have, they're just too much effort. You should see the roots though I'll try to snap some pics when I change the res... ugh... my back.

Ya man, that's gotta be some work. I have one large tote, then a few smaller 5 gallon buckets. Makes it a little easier I guess, but takes forever switching everything around. I'm impressed with what you have going on. And c-99 is one killer strain.

Hello viewers and welcome back to my closet.

Day 27, big changes since last group pics, they're filling out very nicely! Lost a few bottom fan leaves due to procrastination on the rez changes, low pH... but I got it done and the damage stopped straight in it's tracks, everything is looking good. I can't believe how snowy C99 is getting, I really found golden genetics with her.

Oh yeah, those giant mutant buds on Diesel Cindy are getting huge, they shall win me a Nug of the month! Fist sized bud X2. It's like a cola decided to form without growing vertically. I LOVE IT
