CA: WeHo Co-Hosts Cannabis Education Forum On Saturday

The Cannabis Education Forum (CEF) in cooperation with the City of West Hollywood is hosting "the Golden State of Cannabis" on Saturday.

The event, which will be held in the City Council Chambers at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd., is intended to educate the public on marijuana issues. This is the second annual CEF event with the city.

"2015's Cannabis Education Forum featured panels and speakers including doctors, lawyers, parents, law enforcement, hemp industrialists and other professionals who provided well-rounded commentary on the diverse issues affected by cannabis," said CEF founder Amanda Hyde. "This year's forum will engage people from across all socioeconomic spectrums and address the actual demands, laws and opportunities in this emerging industry."

CEF has enlisted the help of Jackie Subeck and Lisa Sweeney of WomenGrow Los Angeles to co-produce the event. It will include a variety of speakers and panels as well as raffles and booths by various exhibitors.

The agenda is as follows:

10-10:15 a.m. Good morning with Cake Moss

10:15-10:30 a.m. Keynote speech by Fiona Ma, CPA, chair, state State Board of Equalization

10:30-11 a.m. Coffee in the Court networking break

11-11:45 a.m. Speaker Lynne Lyman, state Director of Drug Policy Alliance

11:45-noon. Speaker Yamileth Bolanos, founder/president, GLACA: Greater Los Angeles Collective Alliance

Noon-1 p.m. Lunch

1-1:45 p.m. Panel o Cannabis Cures moderated by Tracy Ryan, CEO of CannaKids

1:45-2 p.m. Networking break

2-2:30 p.m. Panel on Seeds and Advanced Genetics moderated by Edward Swerve or Tony Testa of the Cali Connection

2:30-2:45 p.m. Networking break.

2:45-3:30 p.m. Panel on How To Have, Start and Run a Cannabis Business moderated by Jackie Subeck, vice chair of Women Grow Los Angeles

3:30-4 p.m. Networking break

4-4:45 p.m. Panel on People of Color and Cannabis moderated by Felicia Carbajal

4:45-5 p.m. Networking break

5-5:20 p.m. Linsey Pecikonis on How Social Media Can Help Spread Your Message

5:20-5:40 p.m. Chelsea Lee Byers on How To Be an Effective Activist and Advocate

5:40-6 p.m. Closing remarks

The event, which begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m., is free. Those wanting to attend are asked to RSVP to CEF online.
