A California man who authorities called a leader in a scheme to ship thousands of pounds of marijuana to Ohio in suitcases has been sentenced to just over a decade in prison.

Authorities say the plot involved 14 flights from Los Angeles to Ohio and elsewhere, distributed about 7,000 pounds of the drug and earned more than $3 million.

David Garrett of Culver City, Calif., was sentenced Friday to 10 years and one month in prison. The 28-year-old Garrett pleaded guilty last year to distributing more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana.

Also Friday, 25-year-old Meili Cady (MY'-lee KAY'-dee) of Los Angeles pleaded guilty for her role in the scheme, while a sixth defendant, Henry Hernandez of Los Angeles, indicated that he, too, will plead guilty.

This is how it's done they know it's easier if they can intimidate people into taking a deal. That they will get a feather in their cap without taking a hit for their actions since they are usually questionable they did it the same way with Tommy Chong.
