Can germinated seeds survive 48 hours in wet paper towels?

I'll be using the paper towel method to germinate my seeds.

I'll try to time my seeds to germinate when I'm around to transfer them into small pots, but in the weekends I won't be around if some seeds germinate during the weekend, so my question is; can germinated seeds survive 48 hours in wet paper towels until I can get to them?

This is not by choice. Family commitments take me out of town for the weekends.

Only problem is the tap root could get caught in the paper towel. No harm. Plant a small piece of paper towel as well. Just make sure they stay moist. Little fact here...a seed dropped in to my dogs electric water dish. The pump sucked the seed to the bottom on a screen. That plant sprouted and grew leaves underwater. Swear! They will make it.

or drop them at the beginning of the wk. they'll be ready for planting before you go.
