UK - A cannabis factory and a pirate radio station were today discovered in a network of cellars beneath Dudley town centre during a police raid.

More than 20 officers were involved in the swoop beneath a disused building in Upper High Street today.

Officers used a battering ram to knock down doors leading to the cellars. They discovered a cannabis factory with 62 plants being grown in pots beneath a network of lights.

Officers said the factory appeared to be in its early stages and teams were set to begin work gathering evidence from the site.

And they say a pirate radio station was found in another section of the cellars. The room which had signs saying Kriss FM was kitted out with a computer, CD player, and other electronic equipment.

No-one was operating the station at the time of the raid and no-one was discovered in the network of cellars.

Early-morning shoppers and workers watched as police swooped on the building at 8am.

Police said further investigations would be continuing at the site through the day.
