Hayley Willar is a young Canadian teen was one of the first young girls to receive Gardasil.
The vaccine, which fights HPV, is given to boys and girls as young as 11 or 12 years old. Although the vaccine is said to benefit boys, girls are much likely to get vaccinated. That's because the vaccine is said to protect against cervical cancer as well as vulvar and vaginal cancer.
Before receiving the vaccine, Hayley was a competitive figure skater leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
Just a few weeks after being vaccinated, she began to feel ill. In the three years that followed, she suffered from severe migraines, ovarian cysts, an incapacitated immune system, and anxiety. These are all side effects commonly reported by women who have received the vaccine.
In 2013, at the age of 19, Hayley was diagnosed with leukemia.
Initially, Hayley followed her doctor's advice and underwent chemotherapy and traditional treatment.
Unfortunately, Gardasil is known to react to chemotherapy and, in Hayley's case, it certainly did.
She experienced hair loss, mouth sores, extreme fever, and hypersensitivity.
After 6 weeks of treatment, she was in remission. And yet, 2 months later, Hayley suffered from an out-of-control ear infection that spread throughout her body. In another case of extreme negligence, in hospital, a liquid chemotherapy agent came into contact with her skin, jeopardizing her recovery.
Frustrated with the medical system, Hayley's mother Dayna researched Gardasil and found that many other girls have experienced similar illnesses after vaccination.
Determined, she researched alternatives to chemotherapy and found out about cannabis oil.
Dayna made the cannabis oil herself and began administering the natural treatment. Within a week, Hayley's routine blood work came back normal for the first time since she began chemotherapy.
Two months into the cannabis treatment, Hayley was doing so well that she abandoned the chemotherapy altogether. Her doctors were very vocal and insisted that she restart chemotherapy and follow the usual 3-year treatment plan.
