Has anybody ever hooked up their carbon filter exhaust hose tot he cold air return? Does/did it seem to pull enough air and filter ok? Using a 4 inch inline carbon filter.

This was a recent post of someone dying in Massachusetts due to tampering with their furnace. Possibly a one off. Possibly had never changed their vents. Regardless just something to be aware of.

Do you mean to hook it right into the cold air ducting somewhere in the basement or just sticking the hose into the cold air return in a room?

I was referring to basement duct. I have decided to stick with my 4" inline out the basement bathroom vent though.

Do not put vents in a garage. That's why. Anywhere else in the house won't matter.
