CFL Question

Hi

So I know a 250watt hps draws 250watts from the wall, right?

Does a actual 250watt CFL also draw the whole 250watts or does it draw less like for example 150watts?

The CFL I am talking about is the big actual 250watt, not equivalent.

Thanks in advance.

I did but I can't seem to find a straight answer.

I just heard from a guy on --------- who has experience with both, his 250w HPS with ballast draws about 280-300watts (holy fuk) and his 125w actual CFL draws just about 90watts so he reckons a 250w CFL will draw between 180-190 actual watts.

I thought so, because if it was the case that a actual 250w CFL drew the same amount of power as a 250 HPS it would only be logical to choose the HPS and no one would ever buy those CFL's, LOL. see wat i'm sayin? (cajun accent)

(250 HPS= 28000 lumens)
(250 CFL= 13000 lumens)

Anyways to end off, I just wish we all had a massive field to our disposal where we could do a 7000 plant guerilla grow 2-3 times a year and that it was summer 12 months of the year, then we wouldn't have to worry about all this indoor requirements shat.
