ChronicKid's White Widow Auto: Soil, 600W LED, 2nd Grow

Hey everyone. So, I'm way behind with posting about this grow, but I'll give you the gist so that you can pull up a stool and scope it out.

Brief rundown: 2 W.W. autos from Seedsman seeds. I upgraded this grow to a 3x3x6 tent, but am still using my 600w LED with flower and veg options. One girl was trained from birth and topped at the 4th node. The other had minimal training for about seven days and was also topped at the 4th node... I was running a little experiment to see how different training and not training would do, and the difference was so great that I decided to end the study so I could capitalize on the grow itself haha. Lesson learned here, always LST.

The girls are 47 days old from sprouting from the earth. I did 3 straight waterings before switching to bloom nutrients. I started bloom nutrients at 1/4 strength two nights ago and they seemed to respond well. I've given them both one small haircut before this stretch. I am currently running the light with full spectrum to ensure heat stays around 72. When they go to sleep they average around 68 degrees.

Day 48: Yesterday when they woke up I watered. Here are two pics from right before they went to sleep today. Will also update this evening. Tomorrow when they receive a second dose of bloom nutrients, I will provide ratios and info on nutrients.

Day 49: gave half dose of bloom nutrients. Girls looking good and responding nicely. Buds are starting so gain some density as opposed to just being hairs.

Between the two, I put four squirts of BLOOM and BOOST, three squirts of SUGAR DADDY, and 20 drops each of THROVE ALIVE RED, AWESOME BLOSSOMS, and MAGICAL. All nutes are mixed in 1 gallon jug and pH’d. Then I pour 500 ml at a time into a smaller bottle and water each plant 500ml at a time. After the gallon is done, I split another 500ml or regular water between the two. Usually this last dose is what gives a little runoff. I think next watering they will require a little more water at the end because the runoff is becoming less and less with each water.

Day 50: Watered with regular water. Added an additional 300ml to each to encourage runoff from the nutrient bath they got a few days ago. One of the girls has continued to have what I think are pH issues. They look like rust spots. I have removed these leaves for the last few weeks 1 or two as they pop up, but I’m stumped because there is nothing like this on the second plant.

Pllleeease help. Supposedly they’re supposed to have 30 days left.

I ask kindly again with identifying this problem! My grow is on the latter half and the last thing anyone wants is something to destroy the crop.

Rust looking spot getting larger and spreading leaves on one plant. Both plants receive the exact same water and nutrients etc, but only one is having this issue.

I decided it was a phosphorus deficiency as a result of a PH imbalance. I flushed both girls last night, because if one has the deficiency, the other is likely close to following in suit. Will shower them in bloom nutes tomorrow and will provide a proper update then!

Both girls looked very healthy (minus visible deficiencies on leaves). What I mean is they are definitely perky and happy to be alive.

They both received their first full dose of Technaflora Starter Kit Flower nutrients tonight. I’ve decided to move forward with a gallon per plant per watering. I think watering them less before contributed to the buildup of salts that caused the phosphorus lockout.

Hopefully moving forward there is nothing but fattening nugs.

Oh ya, started 3 tangerine dream and 1 more white widow seed tonight. Hopefully they’ll have tails in the next few days!

Hey Chronic, looks good. A few questions...

what type of medium are you in?
what are you pHing your water at after nutes?
are you using Calmag?
can you take a couple of pics with the lights off so we can see the leaves?

It doesn't look bad yet, but let's see what we can do after answering some of the questions above. I'm not familiar with the nutes you are using, so you are on your own until someone else can provide info, however if you have a PPM pen you can measure your water for solids. The chart below will give you an idea of where you want to be.

Hey Chronic, looks good. A few questions...

what type of medium are you in?
Happy Frog soil: 3 gal fab pot
Water ph to 6.5 every watering.
i use the Technaflora Starter kit for nutes.
One happy pic and one sad pic. I plucked a few others, but it has only ever been on the one plant.

Unfortunately, I still haven’t gotten my pen for runoff.

Hey Chronic,
well it could be just a genetic thing. The plant looks like it's doing fine overall. You never mentioned the calmag. Are you using this also? With LED's, Calcium typically is an issue. I would also drop the pH down to 6.3 and let the soil do it's thing. The soil is pretty much neutral, so at 6.3 it draws it up to 7 allowing all the nutrients to get used.
You are well into flower so you don't want to make too many adjustments now. I would look at calcium as being an issue.

Totally agree with MrSauga, that's almost certainly a Calcium deficiency as long as your pH is good.

I honestly just assumed there was enough calcium in the nutrients I am using. If I need CalMag on top of everything else, then I shall get CalMag on top of everything else. Thanks for the feedback!

Today is day 57 and the girls have added a little more girth, and certainly a fair more amount of pungent aromas of the lemon variety. Just maintenance today since I watered yesterday. Few pics added just for reference.

Ya sorry to say, Calmag is a must...most certainly with LED's. Once your plant starts to flower Calcium is used more, so it's always good maintenace to keep it on your feed schedule from mid veg on.

Day 60: Thickening up even more. Nothing crazy to report. I dosed with extra MagiCal (instead of CalMag) and the girls seemed to have taken nicely to it. No more heavy problems with calcium. Could also be a PH fix.
