Citizen CLU028-1203 - White leds for growing vegetables

Hello guys,

I'm new here, not weed grower ( high prison penalty in Poland for this :( ), but I'm in Aeroponic / Fog ponics of hot peppers.

I come here to ask "professionals" in terms of indoor growing about lighting.

I see here that a lot of people use White COB's instead of "Pink" multi-band ( full spectrum) lights.

Here in Poland Cree are not so cheap, and when you add currency exchange rate, buying CREEs is totally not economical.

So I readed some posts here and got interest in CITIZEN COBs.

Here a CITIZEN CLU028-1203C4-403M2M2-F1 ( 4000k 25W ) costs 10PLN with tax so this is around 2,7USD per one! 50W is 20PLN and thats about 5,5USD.
And as they are low watt I can use passive cooling for them. (like to put couple of COBs in one big aluminium radiator with 2 fans)

A want to use couple of COBs in smallet power to get better light distribution in my 8m2 garden of Hot Peppers ( from mild one to LEGENDARY HOT like CP358 Apocalypse and JAFSH).

So here those COBs will do the job or I need to buy Multiband pinks ?

Here some photos of my actual state in growing vegetables.

And for Fogponics I will not use Piezo ultrasonic, but dry fog nozzles :)

Future garden.

Hello,

I don't see any ansver so I get question :

I calculated that for my garden I need 1200W of light in LED version. Thats about 48 CITIZEN CLU028-1203C4-403M2M2-F1 ( 4000k 25W ).
In what power of single COB I should go ?
25, 50 or 100W ?

CLU028-1203C4-403M2M2-F1 have max power of 25W,

Data of that COB.

So at 270mA we have here about 9,7W and 1500lm on 25*C of base temp.

What if I drivee this diode to 600mA ?
I should get about 21W and 3300lm ? ( If I put there good cooling)

This will be safe for diode ?

So 48x Cobs at 21W should give me...
1kW power draw and... 158.400lm.......

This should be ok for about 12 hot peppers, 4 tomato plants, 3 cucumbers, and some lettuce + strawberries ?

Other data of COB

And light spectrum:

I've been looking at Quantum boards that are suppose to be more efficient than anything. They would be much easier to build or buy a kit. A QB304 Quantum Board or HLG 550 LED Horticulture Grow Light.

But they are kind of expensive. A more cost effective alternative is the 315 watt CMH or LEC.

I measured the PAR in my 3' by 3' tent with my LEC. My SunSystem LEC has a foot print about the same as the HLG 550 listed in the second link above. And the HLG 550 is over $1000 the LEC is $275 to $400 depending on the manufacturer.

I looking only in DIY options.
1000$ for a light is for me overkill,

For 100$ I have COBs from Citizen , for about 1200W + DIY drivers etc, I will fit in 300$...
For whole garden not a single light.

And btw. "professional made" lights are totally overpriced.
