WHAT: City Council to vote on Moratorium on Medical Cannabis Dispensaries but is considering regulations
WHEN: Tuesday, September 28th 2006 6:30p.m.
WHERE: City Council Chamber, 225 West Second Street Claremont CA
WHY: The City Council is voting on a moratorium and do mention the possibility of regulations. However, the moratorium language incorrectly states that cities that have permitted dispensaries see an increase in burglaries and illegal drug sales around the dispensaries. ASA has written a report interviewing several cities and counties officials which finds this is simply not true. When properly regulated, dispensaries are an asset to the communities which house them.
