Cliffbuds Micro Stealth LED Box

Yeah I'll see how this cheapy LED panel I've got performs but may have to consider something like that. Set it up using stuff I had left over from my first build. Can always wire up the old blurple bulbs if need be too. I know they work okay but wanted to try this panel out.
If you was interested, those bulbs I’ve got were like £2.99 each

Whatever works mate. The QB is no bigger than 30cm. I think it's 27.5. It's the 65W one. They seem to be getting harder to find though. When I've got spare funds I'll look for the 3000k one to put in my new flower tent. They're perfect for small grows.

Looks like you can get a four-pack of the boards for $132 ($33 each), but you'd have to buy the heat sink and a driver/PS separately. There's a list of driver options for single-board, dual-board, and quad-board (only one listed for the latter) on the product page. I took a look at some of the suggested ones for single-board setups for sh!ts and giggles a couple weeks back and their prices seemed to range between $15 to $30 or so. I didn't check on heat sink prices, but the thought occurred to me at the time that someone with the money to buy the components could either end up with four powerful (for the wattage) reasonably priced grow lights... or assemble and sell three to his/her friends for reasonable prices and end up with the fourth one for free. Maybe that plus some cash, if the person built/sold three mini garden cabinets instead of just the lights, IDK.

Yeah I've seen those online. Ones I found were all in the US though and I hate paying as much for postage as the product I'm buying. May be worth it though as I could probably sell on the spares over here quite easily and recoup those costs. It's an option. There used to be a few UK sites with the 65W boards but they seem to have started selling other products or the smallest is 120W. I'll keep hunting and resort to buying from overseas if I have to. Also the 65W boards don't need a heatsink. Think they're called QB132 V3.

Whoops, was thinking I was suggesting the above to someone in the northeast USA. Apologies.
No worries. Can get a Chinese version that apparently uses the same Samsung diodes and meanwell driver but I'm not sure I trust that. Maybe I'll just have to ask my uncle in Texas if he can pick one up and ship it cheaper.

I'd skip the former; counterfeiting of products is still rampant in the PRC. Plus, some companies sell what used to be known as (and might still be, for all I know) "seconds," which don't pass quality standards for one reason or another. When they do, they often sell them in bulk quantities at deeply discounted prices. If an unscrupulous company got their hands on such things, and used them to build LED grow lights, well... there's no way of knowing, yeah? So it's best to buy from companies either have a well-established good reputation or are located in countries where such practices are frowned upon (instead of being ignored). Both, if possible, but....

As for the latter: Do you have to pay VAT and/or import duty on "gifts?"

I’ve put the domes back on the bulbs. The seedling seemed to be struggling under them. I’m slow getting to grips with LED, I’ve grown his and cfl but these LED’s I don’t know what distance to use. I downloaded a light meter app, it’s so strange the lux readings are a lot higher with the domes on, even though I can see it’s brighter bare bulbed?! Has anyone else got a few grows with these SIL bulbs?

This be interesting to watch. I'm in to understand coco better

So here’s my 7 day update, the seedling is 7 days old today! Growth is slower than what I’m used to in soil. I’ve approached this grow like a headless chicken, but I’ve made some changes that I hope to keep up:

1. swapped the 4 x 1500lm 2700k bulbs for 4 x 806lm 4000k bulbs I have a feeling it was far too intense for her. Seems to have perked up in the 24 hours it’s been under the 4000k. This light is now right at the top of my box, 15” away. The colour is so much nicer on the eyes!

2. I transplanted from my wide shallow homemade pot to a square pot I’ve cut down. The drainage wasn’t good enough to cope with my new watering technique.

3. I’ve been using a wet/dry cycle like I do in soil, this may be a big factor in the slow growth I’m getting. I’m now dumping 500ml on the coco surface daily, so it floods and pools on the coco surface for a second before draining out aggressively and sucking oxygen into the pot. Sounds like snap crack and pop cereal! I’ve bumped the feed from 2.5ml per litre to 3ml per litre (max strength is 5ml per litre) keeping at 5.8 ph.

Just a reminder this is Chem Bomb Auto fem by Humboldt Seed Organisation

I changed from soil because of the supposed faster growth and easier flushing at the end, but I’ll be honest I’ve struggled to get to grips feeding from the seed popping and the correct watering technique
dnt know much about coco, but i know you gotta water it everyday and you are adjusting the ph. i've also noticed after couple grows that during the seedling stage my plants did better when the humidity was around 50-60% with humidity closer to 26c.

Day 14 update: I’ve continued to water 500ml everyday, haven’t let the coco dry at all and I think it’s the best way tbh. A bit wasteful I suppose, I’m getting like 60-70% runoff but the plant seems to be loving getting a good flush with fresh nutrients everyday. She was looking good at 4ml per litre, so I bumped it to 5ml (max strength) and she’s showing signs of slight burn, so back down to 4ml.

I had to put the 12w 2700k bulbs back in to keep the heat up, changed the pc fan adapter to 6v. Lights on 24/7, temps range between 23-27c. I’m happy with that. Leaves look like they are going to get fat, hopefully the buds follow suit.

Growth is really picking up now, from experience 24/7 light keeps them short and bushy.

Hey dude. That’s been the biggest hurdle so far, watering everyday. So far this last week has been good. In soil at this stage I’d be watering like every 5 days or so, certainly no nutrients yet either!

you've got roots coming out of the pot. Definitely time to feed them at low levels.

Hope all is well in your world.

How did this grow turn out?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting in Medical Marijuana Strain Reviews?

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.

:Namaste:
