COBs burned out

So I got a few Cree 3070s and an HLG-185H-C1400B driver, I went to test out my cobs and 2 of them popped. I have no idea why. I tested them individually, and as far as I understand, voltage doesn't matter as long as its Vf or exceeds Vf... no idea why. It's a constant 1400mA output. Just wasted $54 from my stupidity. Any help is appreciated before I pop some more.

I just touched them against the cob where they were meant to go. The DIM wires from the driver are taped off and not connected to anything.

How many watts can they take

If that driver is on full it busts out 185w

Can't see that cob can take that

No I think you're right. Without more cobs in series, 143V @1400mA is going straight to the COB @ 200W. I didn't think about power when i just wanted to test a single COB. I'm kind of blazed to be honest *facepalm

When I built my board I had the dimmer down, You can always go up but once up it's hard to go down. Works for house buying too,
