Coco Scrog - Multiple Strains

haha yeah, my next grow right after this one will be a sog. seemed like a bit much but I feel I can capitalize on Sog with my size constraints. As for the other questions, I have no definitive answer to that. I tend to go with what I'm used to doing when I have issues.

well too high or too low PH is still bad for the plant so it is still good to test regularly. even with organics. not as important as ppms of course but doesn't hurt.

They have very little time to get established. Most autos start flowering after 10-20 days, and they still have the stretch period in flower to gain bulk. My LA con was only a few inches high and the internodes were packed insanely tight, I figured it wouldn't have much of a stretch period to bulk up during flower since it is a 100% indica but I'm no expert! If it was the SLH or something then I probably would of kept it because I've heard shes a real stretcher in flower. Yes some autos can definitely yield! I saw Xlr8 pull I think 4oz's off a Big Bang Auto, he said it was awesome smoke too and it looked great

Hmm, Yeah I guess a pure indica may not stretch enough to produce anything.. but ya never know until you try ;)

Hey there Stoned! I saw your posts in Docs Journal and thought that I would come on over and post my thoughts for you.

I am with Doc when he said it was possible light burn. I also see on the plant some staining do to the foliar feeds.
Here is my thought and I have grown LA Conf a bunch and in different mediums, besides high bix which has been the best thus far I used pro mix for most of the grows I have done with LA Conf (from DNA correct?). I say snip the affected leaves and lay off the foiliars for now and just feed through the soil or coco in your case. Do not flush you are very correct about that using organics.
Let her dry out a bunch and then drench her when she dries out. Make sure it is a good feeding when you do give it to her.

I sure hope this helps and hang in there.

Sounds awesome and I can't wait! I would love to do a SOG, but unfortunately my legal plant limit is too low to permit a SOG. I will definitely try it out in the future!

Have you seen VapeDogg's 49 plant SOG in airpots? It's turning into a jungle

Thanks for your advice, I figured Doc's journal would be the best place to ask for help! You are correct, it is DNA's LA Con, I got two regular freebies with one of my orders. How is the stretch in flower? Is it non-existent?

It could very well be light burn, I have three CFL's overhead to keep them in Veg and they got pretty close to the plants a few times. I would like to use GLR but the light would shine through the film at night onto a large tree above the greenhouse, I am legal but I still would like to be as stealth as possible!

I will hold off on the foliars other then a few doses of azatrol & BT in flower for preventive measures

Thanks again, feel free to chime in as often as you want :cheesygrinsmiley:

Very cool! Yeah she strectches, say yours is 18" going into flower with good lighting she will hit somewhere around 30. I mostly had mine in 4gal pots, but if she is in a bigger pot with good lighting she will double on you.

She was always a real hardy plant and to this day is my fav. for overall effect, bud formation, smell, yield and so forth, plus she was one of the first true genetics I had the pleasure to grow so I has a real soft spot for her :)

Just another tip if you foilar feed again and this goes with any plants make sure to remove or move your lights as high as possible and put a fan on the plants until all the liquid is dried from them and then put your lights back. This should prevent any residue from potentially burning the leaves.

Thanks for allowing me to chime it and :peace:

Wow I'm surprised she stretches that much, that is very good to know :thumb:

The LA Con sounds like a real keeper and I love Indicas, I will take some clones even if she is flowering. For some reason I've had good luck with flowering clones anyway.

Thanks for the foliar tip, I put them in a shaded corner until the leaves are dry!

Small Update: 5/17/12

Well it is painful for me to tell you guys this but I had to cull the Vortex this morning. It was unfortunate that it was a male because it was a vigorous grower. I have another vortex bean but I don't think I will pop it for a while.

I'm thinking I may have enough time to fill up the 3'x4' screen with just the SLH & Tahoe. The SLH seems to be a real stretcher so far so she should make a good candidate to fill up the screen. I'm going to FIM all the tops tomorrow and will transplant into 5 gallons by next Thursday to begin training them into the screen.

Here is the Vortex right before it was culled

Here are some before and after shots of the LST on the SLH

Nice pictures :bravo:

Sorry about the nanners Stoned- I just had a couple of males I had to cull as well and you know they are always the best growers LOL.

On a much lighter note that LST (which you did a great job on :thumb:) looks like a ganja octopus - LOL :)

Keep it up and hang in there!

:thanks: Growrook! Ironically, They have all been taken with my cell phone. It seems to take better pictures then my digital camera

Yeah it was a bummer, I was really looking forward to the vortex. Thank goodness the rest are confirmed females!

:thanks: That made me LOL and you are quite right my friend it does look like a Ganja Octopus

Bummer about the ball sacks. Glad you got them out early. I too just culled 3 boys :(

Yeah it is always a bummer, once I have the space to start breeding I won't mind it so much!

glad you got them early, some of them males have really small sacs that open before you even notice its male, so its worth having a good look, plus they usually show before the females, but this time round my ak47 cross showed the females a week or 2 before the males showed they was males

I really LOVE that LST work. GREAT looking plants brotha. :Namaste: +reps!

Thank you! I was just checking up on your grow and your Angel heart is turning into a lovely bush, the autos are starting to get sugar coated as well.

I've decided to postpone the transplant, they are still recovering from the recent topping/Fim and I want to give the canopy a chance to even out from the LST.

Update: 5/26/12

I decided to transplant the SLH & Buddha Tahoe OG into 5 gallon pots today! I applied a sprinkle of Azomite & BPN Root Magic Myco under the root ball.

This is my first time trying fabric pots and I have several Smart Pot's & Aurora Root pots in 5 gallons so I chose to do a little comparison and put the SLH in the Smart Pot and the Tahoe in the Aurora pot. The Aurora root pots are almost half the price and feel more durable so if they perform as well or better I will only be using them in the future, plus I kind of like the recycled grey look!

I put a thin layer of hydroton at the top because my intake & oscillating fans tend to blow perlite & coco all over the place. Plus it helps when watering by slowing the flow of water down and distributing it more evenly which is very beneficial when using air pots or fabric pots which tend to drain before the entire root ball is saturated.

The LST ties were undone obviously for the transplant. I will re apply the ties in a few days or I may just use the screen to start training in a week or so when they reach it.

On to the pics

Here we have the LA Con, I guess you could say the first bud porn of the journal :slide:

I have some spider mites, you can probably see the damage in some of the pictures, I will begin applying doses of Azatrol every 5-7 days until all signs of pests are gone.

:thanks: Any feedback or criticism is highly appreciated :peace:

I almost forgot, the plants had a very nice root mass, the roots were thick and healthy although it had the typical issue with the roots being focused toward the bottom and then wrapping around the container. I will post pictures of the root masses after harvest to get an idea if the fabric pots are a remedy to this issue. I will also have a plant or two in Superoots air pots, it will be interesting to compare all the root masses post harvest.

your SLH looks very similar to my wembley, except yours looks way better haha. GREAT LST work brotha! +reps.

I just checked it out and you are right, they are very similar! Thanks and don't be too hard on yourself yours look fantastic, plus auto's always seem to be more finicky. YOU are the LST master after that Mr. Nice Angel Heart :thumb:
