I know I got mites, and am treating it with fruit tree spray durring dark hours once a week, I can't keep ph down even with sulfer to soil and running 5ph in water, use pro mix, but ph always jumps back up to 7.5-8 by the time it dries. Also thought I had nitrogen deficiency so I was told coffee grounds can fix both. Obviously the high ph can cause lock out so growth is slow. I have flushed. Last two watering cycles going once every couple days. Then adding nutes once a weak at tsp per gallon. 1/4 strength. Idk if this fixed the issue cause of slow growth but problem isn't getting worse.

Recently transplanted no odor or signs of decay within 10 days cause they were originally in miracle grow, thanks for the reply.

Subbed. I'm curious to see what the pros have to say since I have a similar problem.

For now, I'm using a product called PH down (the plant product, not the pool product), which helps lower the PH, but it slowly climbs back up.

I use dolomite lime in my grow medium and humic acid. they both neutralize the pH of the medium.

are you checking the pH of everything you water the plant with? the general consensus is to keep that in the 6.2-6.8 range.

Thanks for the input I will add lime, I don't want to break up the roots would it be more bennifitial to add it to the water durring the next watering and allow the pro mix to absorb and neutralize the ph

Coffee grounds lowered ph by .3 (1/4c per 3 gallon pot) and did help leaves return color pics later to ight

lime doesn't dissolve in water. best is to work it lightly into the top of your grow medium. you probably don't need more than 1 Tbsp per container.

be sure it's Dolomite Lime. other limes will likely kill your plant. I'm thinking of what we used to call quick lime.

you probably do not want to lower your pH and especially not with coffee grounds.

Dolomite lime, got it, coffee grounds did work surprisingly, I'm not trying to be a dick and I truly appreciate all the help and info, but y not coffee grounds. I guess time will tell but I will go get dolomite

Update slight improve on some after spraying and slight decline on others ph still on high side it's a slow and gradual decline then steep incline as they dry

two reasons to avoid coffee grounds: first it lowers the pH and second it invites mold.

Very surprised about the mold I new it speeds up "metabolism of compost" and was highly recommended by many out door farmers but I did not Ask of it would be exceptable for indoor

I tried coffee grounds before, the difference in PH was negligible. I had better luck using lemon juice, and even better luck using ph down.

For what you'll spend on coffee, you'll be better off just buying the PH down.
