CoopExquisite's Soil & Coco Bag Seed Grow Journal 2017

Do you guys think it's a good idea to dry in a jar like this with the lid off? Only thing touching the glass is the leaves.

I didn't leave it like that, but wondering if it would work, or would it take longer to dry out...thoughts? Shes just chillin in a box right now.
Looks so yummy and frosty!! Good job, coop! I would think drying in a jar might lead to mold from the lack of airflow, but the way you have it positioned it might work out..

Fucking mint job coop

Thanks! It's such a satisfying feeling. I now know the joys of growing my own and I'm hooked! Can't wait to apply my new found knowledge to improve my next grow.

Lmfao "your tribute has been accepted". Nice work lol

It saved both of us. Her from certain death, and me from murdering her before she was ready.

Those plants look reaaaaaal perty . Nice work man. Doing some serious work with that setup. I've got so many friends that say that can't grow in their apartments, or, because they think you need a huge space to harvest danks. But your doin it right for sure .

Thanks buddy. I thought my setup was small till I saw a PC micro-grow. I think this setup is perfect for my consumption. And from here on every yield will be more since this was only a 5 week veg from seed. Now that I have my baseline, it can only get better.

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing. I definitely wouldn't dry all my buds like this though.

You all are making me feel like I just won the blue ribbon for my prize pig at the county fair :laughtwo:

Not very experienced but personally I wouldn't dry it in a jar i feel like that would get to humid with the glass and all even with the lid off but not to sure oh and since I feel like we're similar in a sense I'm sure you've been doing a lot of research on the drying and cure process but if you haven't get to it it's extremely important imo lol just my $.02 lol
but they are looking great and I actually bought that scope youngot and was playing with it yesterday it's dope but my handheld gets a closer look at the trics granted its a lot harder to use because I don't have the hands of a surgeon lol I plan on using both in my new grow I'm starting. primarily that digital one cause it's f'n dope and those kids I'm definitely getting those

Although I wouldn't do it whats harm in trying it on one bud seeing what happens that's how new techniques come about with me atleast trial and error lol what better way to learn lol

More of an experiment really. Only because the cutting was small enough to fit inside. Just enough for a tasting session with some close friends. The rest of her will be dried in the tent so no worries there :)

I didn't put all this effort into her just to have her taste like shit lol, yeah I've been reading and that's what led me to the hygrolids, as I was looking for those humidity packs.

And the digital scope is great! Close up pics and videos all on your phone! And definitely hard to get those close up tric shots. I started using the white attachment for the quick look over. Adjusted the focus so I just had to touch it to the buds and *snap*. When I go freehand to get in close I take video then salvage what screenshots I can.

You thinking about the analog or digital lids? I like the look of the analog, but I'm a digital girl living in a digital world...except I'm not a girl. But you know what I mean right? :laughtwo:

Ironically, I forgot the bud in the jar. Didn't mean to leave it in there but was in a rush leaving and forgot to take it out. No biggie, just gonna take a little longer for that piece to dry because as everyone expected, there wasn't any air exchange in the jar.

Today is the day I decided to murder my first born. It was bitter sweet, but in the end we both know it's better this way. She was 93 days from seed with 35 days in veg and 57 days in flower.

So My first grow is harvested! Just gotta wait for the dry, then I'll trim and update with the total yield. Then, we cure...

And I would swear that this was Lemon Haze. I definitely smell lemons, but everyone else says they just smell "the plant".

Check out the low and slow thread for info about drying in Mason jars inside a fridge

Regarding drying/curing. We have a thread where many good brains have been put together to figure out the science of drying and curing and the absolutely best ways of doing just that. We call it low and slow

DrZiggy's Low And Slow Drying: Maximizing Your Harvest

I've been reading up on it since the first time you recommended it ;)

July 13th is the day I decided it was time for trimming the sample which came in at just over 1 gram. 8 days later myself along with a few close friends tasted my first grow for the first time! There's still some curing left to be done but she's a great smoke so far. I like the way the leaves dry over the buds like husks.

July 24th is the day the rest of the plant got trimmed.

and the grand total is...

20170724_173800.jpg

21 grams. I'm not disappointed. I was hoping for an ounce but I got pretty close with only a 5 week veg. Next lady is gonna veg for at least 8 weeks.

This is what it was all for. Enjoying the fruits of my labor.

Smoke Report:
Sticky as fuck! Still smells like plant, with a hint of lemon or citrus that becomes more noticeable as you play with the buds. Nugs seem light but not airy. Needed a 30 dram pop-top container for 1/8 and would have to compress it to close it. Not that I have an experienced palate, but what better way to hone my skill. Hard to describe the taste other than clean and smooth on the exhale. The high is great! Very heady and gives me the giggles. Smoke enough of it and it knocks me right out.

Overall I'm happy with my first grow. Didn't get the ounce, but now I know why I didn't. If you want bigger yields you have to be paitient. Can't rush any phase of the grow, she tells you what she needs once you learn her language, and growing doesn't stop at harvest, there is still the curing process which is as important as the grow.

Thanks for following along during this grow. Hope to see you in grow 2 :)

Wow! Talk absolutely nug porn man! Those flowers look like a superb smoke . Now that you've got the process down, it's only a matter of scaling up.

I'm just being lazy right now but you ran a scrog right? I've got one in pace right now but am wondering if two is necessary and not me being a hardo haha.

So true. This is now the benchmark. A 5 week veg got me just under an ounce. Every photo after this will definitely get more veg time, closer to 8 weeks.

I started with a scrog when I had 2 plants in there, but when after 1 turned out to be male, didn't see the need for a scrog for 1 plant on a grow that I was rushing anyway. and the 2nd level is usually to keep the large colas supported. Hopefully I have this problem in the future :laughtwo:

The smoke is awesome. Definitely an indica dominant plant. Couchlock is definite with large doses.

Beautiful bud coop, enjoy .

Thanks Suntana. Totally unexpected results! I see the addiction to growing your own. Everything about this bud is so much better than what I can purchase, not to mention I can grow strains that are local to my area! Looking forward to seeing if I have the colorful genomes for the blueberry and red poison I have going now!

Hope all is well in your world.

Thanks for sharing this grow with us. :goodjob:

Please head over to the 420 Strain Reviews forum and post your smoke report there too.

I’m moving this to Completed Journals now.

Have you started a new grow you would like to share with us?

If so, please feel free to start a new journal here: Journals in Progress

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.

Tried to make some butter with my trim in this little cooker. Works great, perfect temperature, and it evaporates most of the water out of the butter. Would have been great if I didn't spill it all...well most of it. I managed to save a little bit, threw it back in the pot, soaked the leaves again with a stick of butter. still smells, but not sure of the potency. Gotta be more careful next time. So far I like this little cooker. Grant it, I don't have much experience making butter, but this seems to work just fine.
