Critical Mass & LSD: 6/1/21

We are into week 7 of flower. Leafs are starting to show signs of later flower with the spots. Not too concerned about it though as I’ve had much worse looking ones turn out fire. Buds still looking fatter most days. Almost does not look like I have 2 strains in there. Looks like it could be 4. So thinking I def got 4 dif phenotypes in these 4 plants. That’s nice to have some variety in the months between grows. The smell is really starting to come in strong as well. Just a few more weeks.
This grow is shaping up to be my best indoor round yet. Let me know your thoughts if any. ✌

The girls are going to start week 8 of flower tomorrow. Can see the critical mass showing a bit more deficiency than the two further taller LSD plants. I find it odd that the two front girls are really filling in currently and are dense and smelly while the back two (1 of each strain) are lagging a little. Like they are what the dense ones are 10 days ago. Thinking I may have to stagger harvest with these dif phenotypes. Woulda thought it woulda been the strains causing a staggered harvest, but not the case here. One of each straining is just finishing up a little faster than the other. Anyone had this before in a RDWC set up?
I was hoping for more uniformity since they are all drinking the same nutrient water. But you can obviously see a difference. The critical mass is a shorter strain so you can see which side of the tent that is. Haven’t had any major issues this grow. Just know my tap water is not that great. GF is always complaining about our hard water and how our water isn’t very good. So been thinking bout whole house RO system. Or maybe water softener with RO system under the sink these girls use.
Just more thoughts to think on.
Looking like it’s going to be a good harvest though. This is definitely the fullest I have had my 5 by 5 in flower. Excited to see how it finishes from here. Will make new YouTube video soon. Thanks for reading.

Likely Going to start my flush today. Figuring they will be down by this coming weekend or so. Back corner one is the least done, but other three are telling me it’s getting close. So hoping that one catches up fast during the flush. We will see. Def can tell they are at the end of the cycle. Have dehumidifier on full power last week or so and it’s keeping humidity at or below 50. And am getting 2-3 gallons of water pulled from it a day. Straight back into the system. I like that kind of recycling since these girls are drinking about 6-8 gallons a day now. Pretty crazy how big these roots are. Def thinking two air stones would be nice. But the chiller really eliminates most the need for that. Correct? Idk. Might still add more. We’ll post again before and after harvest for a final count. Really getting excited. ✌

I just got done cutting the two critical mass down. I’m all sticky, but looking pretty good. The flush really got the leaves looking rough, but I think it will all be fine. Defoliated a lot of fan leaves yesterday. Def would like to upgrade to RO water. But it’s not possible for the next round yet. So the ones on deck, (jounal in my signature) green crack and ChemDawg will be on a similar schedule of nutrients to these guys. Hopefully they will do a little better. They will certainly be bigger.

The LSD strain def liked the nutrient set up more than the critical mass. I will be pull the final two LSD plants tomorrow and start working on cleaning this big rdwc system. Just filled my trash can for mixing the new nutes. Going to be quite the undertaking to clean. But should be worth it.
Really excited to see what I end up with this round. Wish you all could smell it. It is amazing. Gf says it reminds her of the racetracks due to the fuel smell.

Well all the girls are down. Looking real pretty at this point. Still drying. But all down and now have my ChemDawg and green crack plants under the medic grow light. I will be updating that journal here next. So follow on to that one from my signature.
Anyways, I don’t have a weight yet because it’s not all the way dry but I will try to get you that on the next post. Trying to stay weekly with this as I can. The clean up of my new system was not fun, but I got it done and did a pretty good job I feel. Now the new girls are already taking off.
Only negative I really saw with this round is my back LSD plant was pretty skinny when I chopped, but the other girls were getting too big for me to wait any longer. And the other LSD was ready. So I took her down a little early for sure. 9 weeks of flower though. Oh well. This next round will make up for it. Also got my chiller out of the grow room to significally lower my room temp. That thing throws off some heat. It’s now on other side of the dry wall with the cold in line hard lined into the bucket right in front of the waterfall intake hole. And then the water chiller out pump (pumps water to chiller) is hard lined on the other side of the 4 inch pvc recirculating pipe away from cold in line. Should keep water cooler with pump out of the water and the lid fully closed.

so we’re still not fully trimmed up yet. But I got most of the big stuff in jars. Rest are in buckets until trim time. Still burping twice a day. They are just Getting a good smell to them so will do once a day soon. End up with over 20 oz in jars so far with a far bit of smaller not as pretty stuff left. Def my best chop yet. Pretty happy with everything. The new light is pretty awesome I must say compared to my old hps and 100w led set up. Def doubled my yield. The new fallponics system and jacks nutrients likely played a part in that as well.
Chiller for the full round this coming round will be awesome. Even with the temps dropping into my favor. The next round will be a good/better one even with only 3 plants since one hermied on me recently. Still going to have a full tent. Tune into the other journal in my signature for more. Will likely give one more update to this journal with the final final weight as there is a good bit left. Just not sure when that will be.

I got a 1/4 Oz from a budtender a few years ago of CM that was premature and had a few bolted seeds in it. Tasted like bakers chocolate and didn't have much buzz to it bud the nugs were massive lol... I grew the seeds and got Afghanica, it was totally different than the CM. It flowered fast after flip , 6 weeks of flowering 42 days for all cloudy and some amber here and there. I had 4 phenotypes from over 20 seeds , Afghanica 1 a uniform plant with big long heavy chunky buds that droop and an amazing leaf to calyx ratio barely need to manicure. Afghanica 2 was a hash plant the leaves hid the bud and you can barely see hairs but it makes 2 grams barf out over .5 of rosin so it rocked lol and Afghanica 3 was a leafy crummy phenotype that didn't make much weight and Afghanica 4 was just a weak miniature plant with potent chunky nugs all over hardly any leaves and awesome flavor of citrus added to the Afghanica creamy hotdog water taste lol. We kept Afghanica 1 and phased out the others. It has fast effects and a creeper of turning dumb and time passing by. Shiva lol The leaf structure was totally different than yours. Awesome journal I'm glad people are still growing CM 1.0

Beautiful, that the Afghanica 1 in the pic? I hope I have the space one day to be able to pheno hunt and sort numbers like that. Really don’t have the time at the moment either. But one day I will. Right now I’m very happy to get the buds and numbers I am getting. Finally what I want it to be. So just now feeling ready to start expanding on strain/pheno knowledge more since I can get most plants to or near thier potential. Thanks for checking out my grow. Hello. Pretty sure the bubble bucket it’s just typical DWC. Bucket with a bubbler That’s what I started with. 6 inch net pots. Can see it in background of my very first pics of this thread I think. I had huge air pump. 12 port and big air stones. Since roots were so big. Still had root rot probs.
I can’t be for sure if my light upgrade (600w hps and 100w led to 720w LED medic grow fold 8) or my rdwc system upgrade what gave me such a good round as they were put in on this same first round. I was tweaking it a lot this round since I’m going from dealing with 4-5, 5 gallon buckets. To 45-50 gallons with this system. But def wouldn’t go back. I hated hauling all the buckets round and separate mixing. If I could do it over, I’d get a big brute trash can like I have now, and mix all my nutes in that and then fill the buckets with all the same nutes from that. I always had a hot or weak bucket some how. Def recommended rdwc if ya can, you have more control and the fluctuations are less. Would have had root rot in my rdwc system if I didn’t buckle down this summer and buy a chiller. Totally worth it. Also a lot better to measure one water ph/ppm instead of 4-5 buckets. Could also do constant meter that sends info to your phone eventually as an upgrade. And in my old set up, my plants got so big, I had to top the 5 gallon buckets off 2 times a day. My top off tank on my system now is awesome. Since they drink 5-10 gallons a day at the end.
For numbers, my highest harvest with bubble buckets was 13 oz from 5. Def could be more if I stuck to them. But first and lowest harvest was with them was 6 oz. did 4 rounds in buckets in my first year indoor.
