Croatsan's - DWC - Amnesia Haze - 2 x 400W - ScrOG - Journal - 2016

Day 35:

About half of the screen is full already. I believe I'll be able to fill it completely. Today is pH down day - lowered it to 5.5. They are taking the full brunt of 800W at 25cm (9.8 inches) light distance and they're loving every single photon of it :) PPM is 550. Water temps still in the reasonable range - 23-24 Celsius (73-75F). RH - 49%.

See you in a couple of days.

is it strange that when i look at your grow i always think of spinach salad?

they are coming right along but they always make me hungry lol

It's not strange. That's how they look and that's how they grow, like salad - ultra fast :)

I've mentioned it in the very beginning, it doesn't look like Amnesia Haze to me. I even posted a thread about it but after 240 lookies - still no answer. I've never seen Amnesia Haze but I know it's sativa-dominant and this looks more indica to me.

But they are mean. They have that sharp, pungent smell when you rub the stalk. So, there's hope.

As they say, there's light at the end of a tunnel. Let's hope it's not the train :)

Thanks Mono. I'm plucking it, but I don't go to town with it like some people do. I prefer to take it easy. Trim a bit here, a bit there, every day or two. You can see that the undergrowth has almost been cleaned. In the next couple of weeks it will be.

As for the upper growth, when the leaf obstructs a potential bud site, I take it down (if I can't tuck it away, which is, always, the first option).

Popeye Haze... I like that :)

I'm gonna tell you a little story, hope you don't mind the digression...

When I was a 10-year old kid, I was reading Popeye regularly in our local newspaper. And there was this character Wimpy who was always munching on hamburgers.

Now, growing up in a half-communist, half-socialist country that Yugoslavia was, I had absolutely no idea what he was eating. Couldn't recognize this type of food as, you've guessed it, it wasn't available to us under that name and shape.

So, being a curious kid, I went on a quest, asking every adult I knew, hoping someone will explain to me what this hamburger thing really is.

No one knew. The best answer I've got was that it's a cured bacon or something along those lines...

That was 1972. First hamburger shop opened in 1984 in Zagreb.

Go figure :)

Day 38:

Day 11 since 12/12. Nothing unusual to report so far. They keep stretching, I keep tucking...

This is the first time I'm doing pH swings and I believe that really makes a difference. Lowering it to 5.5 with pH down, upping it with plain water which is pH 7.5. Doing so allows the plants to apsorb the full range of micros and nutrients.

Res temps are 23 Celsius (73F), temperature measured at the tops is 29 Centigrade (84F), ppm is @450 at the moment. RH is @48%. Tomorrow is res change. Changing it to a bloom regimen.

Over 50% of the screen is full. They should keep stretching for another two weeks, I suppose, and by that time I believe I'm gonna fill about 80-85% of the screen.

New growth finally looks a bit sativa-like so all hope is not lost. Perhaps it is Amnesia Haze after all :)
