Curing with Lemon

So this is my first attemp to cure with lemon inside the curing jars.

My buds are drying as I type.. and in about 3 to 4 days they will be ready for curing. Now, since I love the smell of lemon.. I decided to squeeze lemon citrus to my curing jars so it can penetrate the smell to the buds.
The lemons have been in the jars for 1 months... so my question is, should I take the lemons out when I place the buds inside or should I leave in so the lemon can penetrate through the moist buds?
does anyone have any experience on this?
am sure I will not change the taste in the buds.. but more likely the smell.

I've used lime and it gave my nugs an awesome auroma when smoked.

There doing great so far.... didn'tn leave the lemons inside though to be cautious with mold. What I did do with one jar, just to experiment is ........ squeezed a bit of citrus inside the jar, let it dry inside for a few days, and now just waiting to see if the citrus penetrates inside the buds to give it that lemon flavor.

am sure its not gonna work, but am hoping to get lucky.

there still currently curing..
I smoked a sample and the taste is awesome!! just doesnt taste like lemon lol.. but the smell is dead on!.. theres no dought that the citrus can penetrate the smell to your MJ.

I will use this method for now on for curing.
