Curious' 4th Grow Journal, 4x Strawberry Cough Clones, April 2019

Day 56 of flower (8 wks) 20/08/19

Three weeks later and everything seems to be running smoothly flowers are putting on weight, trichomes looking good. looking at photos now they look like they needed a higher feed. Pistols are starting to turn brown.

Day 70 of flower (10wks) 04/09/19

two weeks later, I'm not sure if this is common but I have noticed with strawberry cough when in flowering it goes into two stages 1st initial flowering then pauses for a week then starts putting more weight on? I do notice some fox tailing aswell maybe this is stress? Either way the extra weight is appreciated. I had to add another trellis net.

Nutrients have been reduced to just Coco a & b.

I have also added a reflector with a 400W MH and changed the 600w Hps to 2 x 400w Hps giving a total of 1200w globe to help increase trichome and terpene development.

Day 84 of flower (12wks) 18/09/19

Girls are looking nearly done. Trichomes are just about all opaque a couple of clear. But have noticed my biggest cola has a case of bud rot, so to ensure I don't loose much more. All ladies have been put on water for a final flush.

Day 94 of flower (13wks) 26/09/19

D-Day, What a day it was kind of sad actually. These girls could probably have been left for another week or two but unfortunately it was not meant to be. They really put on quite a bit of weigh in these last few weeks, curious to know if the MH would have had any influence in this?

A last pic before the chop. I will be chopping all fan leaves and anything that doesn't have trichomes on it. Also due to having a case of bud rot I will be using Doc Buds 4 bucket wash recipe, which is;
Bucket 1 - 25litres of water, 26 degree celcius with 100ml of 6%H202 (35L wrapping paper box)
Bucket 2 - 25litres of water, 26 degree celcius with 1/2 cup baking soda, half cup of lemon juice (coles brand for added sulphites).
Bucket 3 - 25litres of water at 22-24 Degrees Celsius.
Bucket 4 - 25litres of water at 22-24 Degrees Celsius.
Note. All water was poured 24hrs earlier for chlorine evaporation. After washing everything will air dry for 24hrs or until dry, then back into the tent for 5-7 days for drying. Exhaust fan on low pulling air from vents. Usually dry in 5-6 days from the H202.

After drying for seven days in the 5 x 5, the hanging flowers were further manicured and cleaned of sugar leaves and larf.

Artificial light does not do it justice.

End dry weight worked out at 1079 grams total of good flower this excludes trim and larf. This total also includes two plants from my other grow which unfortunately got mixed in while manicuring. Which kind of sucks not getting an exact total for this journal but if broken down to watts per gram 1600W. So this works out at 1.48grams per watt, which I am absolutely stoked with!

While the cure takes place, time to make some edibles. I prefer to make coconut oil with my larf and trim and then into gummi bears. To make the coconut oil I use a 1/1 ratio. 1 cup of ground decarboxilated larf and trim with added resin from trim trays as flower is more than enough to medicate me, in the oven for 50mins @ 115degrees celsius (240f). With one jar 300g or coconut oil. I usually double the whole amount, then into the slow cooker for 5-6hrs on low, then strain through some cheese cloth. I will usually run 1 cup of boiled water to rinse the slow cooker and 1 cup of boiling water through the cheese cloth after lightly squeezing set aside to cool down and let sediment settle to the bottom and oil to sit at the top then into fridge overnight or even a few hours might do.

After oil has hardened remove disc from container rinse of sediment in cold tap water.

Gummi recipe is,
1/2 cup cold water
1 x 65g packet flavoured jelly
2 x tablespoon of gelatine
1/2 cup of coconut oil.
Mix gelatine, jelly and cold water together first. Then on low heat add coconut oil, heat until dissolved and oil combines smoothly with jelly. Apply to molds promptly as it doesn't take long before it sets. I advise only do I g one packet at a time. You can also add soy lecithin oil to help bond the oil and jelly together.
